Default downloading/viewing maps

i am having a weird issue with my computer... i am not sure if it is something i am doing wrong or because vista and aem software don't get along.

example: i go to the map section, download one of jay's(n2mb) maps, and save it to the desktop. when i double click the shortcut on the destop, the aem software opens, but displays the last map i was working on. i thought that was odd, but figured the software might only open maps in the folder they are automatically stored in(program files>aem>aempro>startup calibrations>dodge), so i saved the file there. i then opened the aempro software and clicked open calibration, only to find the file i just saved there, was not there. so, i figured maybe i can view the map if i just try to open it instead of saving it. that didn't work either--it just opened my map again. after this, i gave up.

today, i decided to try again. i go to the map section, click to save the map, select the destination(the startup cal. folder), and what do you know, the map is there. i cancel the current download and go to check the folder--its not there. i tried to access that folder both through the aempro software(by clicking the open calibration button), and by going c:>program files>aem>aempro>startup calibrations>dodge. it was not there. wtf. so i come back to the site, click the link for the map, select the destination, and it shows that it is already there. again, wtf. i checked one more time to see if it is there, which it isn't, and decide to use the search function to see if the computer can find it. no luck.

what am i doing wrong?

Default

update: i figured it out... when i downloaded the file, it stored in a weird sub-folder inside program files>aem>aempro>startup calibrations>dodge. when you open the aforementioned folder, it only shows the startup files and my stored files, no sub folders. at some point, i noticed a button on the tool bar labeled "compatability files." i clicked the button, and there were the maps i had been trying to view. i then copy and pasted the files from compatability files to the dodge startup cal folder. after that, i was able to open aempro>open calibration and they were there and opened correctly.

hope this helps someone else, because it sure pissed me off trying to figure it out, and something like this could have saved me some frustration.
