Go under advanced boost settings and you get a drop down box with three options. I had to go into each one individualy and remove the checks from each box. All advanced boost settings must be turned off, oh well you live and you learn.

seriously though...aem log is your best friend! there is more than enough info to log to troubleshoot ANY issue with the car.
go into your internal logging and set it up to log all of your boost parameters
too many guys either are just too lazy to set it up and would much rather complain about shit that they could figure out on their own.

you will never be able to download a cal file and load it and have your car run great.alot of the maps i have seen posted up look like such junk that i would never use it anyway.the best place to start on a tune quite simply is the beginning.

this man speaks the truth..if hes still in NJ at the time that i get my aem ems he will be the one doing the tuning...N2MB FTW!!!

No nothing like that its all good. I just always thought one person's .cal map really never helped anyone else directly, at least without a bit of rework anyway. Since an individual .cal map is NEVER interchangable between two vehicles, why be super secret about it?

I do not agree with this much to be honest.

Here is my reasons behind it, as Jay stated...most of the cals we see posted are pretty poopy. To many of you, this is a hobby. To many of us, its how we make a living. Im all about helping everyone I can, but Im not about teaching people how not to come to me. Call me selfish I guess, but last time I checked...my plumber didnt want to tell me that I could rent a snake and than tought me how to use it for free.

Also there is more than one way to skin a cat. You and I could take a car and tune it TOTALLY different and still get the basic same results. Jay knows exactly what Im talking about when I say that. I have seen some pretty good running cars with some very odd things in their Cals. Thats not to say they couldnt run better, but I have seen many different ways to go about tuning an EMS.

This was my basic point, on which we seem to agree.

That's reasonable enough.

This .cal file deal should really be a non-issue as never2muchboost rightly stated, a datalog file is much more helpful.

absolutely..the log is mightier than the sword.

i wrote a thread on how to use the internal log check the link
how to diagnose using internal log

aem made it more powerful than it could be with a stock ecu.
even with a drb3 which is chryslers scan tool you do not get as much info.

even though a log is important data it helps to see the cal file.the first thing when reading the log that you want to do is cross reference the problem area in your maps and multipliers...usually the problem will stick out like a sore thumb.

THank you for this. THis may be that hidden problem that I have been dealnig with. I thought it was due to the turbo simply running out of power, I will try it out and see what happens.

Which 3 settings are you talking about? There's quite a few settings in the advanced boost.

Thanks
