Default Can't get past 18psi with AEM Boost Solenoid why?

Installed exactly as instructed by AEM, we threw every setting through the EMS at the boost solenoid it would not go above 18psi. We checked for boost leaks and everything was fine no leak. We then plugged in a mbc and made it to 26psi very nicely so, I wouldn't think it is wastgate related. Any ideas why the AEM boost solenoid is having this problem? I need it to work for boost adjustability.

Well, if you're absolutely sure the solonoid was plumbed and wired correctly, then I'd want to see your .cal file, because that's the only place it could be.

It is wired correctly. I don't share .cal files but thanks for the advise man.

without seeing the map, we are only guessing at the problem. but that is up to you

what map sensor are you running? what is your boost levels set at? wastegate duty cycle?

now this is all bull, because i could ask 1000 questions to try and help you out, but if your not willing to give out the information that is necessary to diagnose the problem, we are only guessing

May I ask why not? I don't understand what you might think the big secret could be?

some shop tuned it and he doesnt want to share his professional tune. that would be my guess

but the problem is that we have no way of diagnosing anything without looking at the map

Probably right,,still seem a bit unnecessarily secretive to me. It doesn't take much skill to programm an EMS right and even less skill to program one that has "problems."

it is kind of funny. im quite happy with my own tune, im not stealing someone elses. even if someone does take it, it may or may not be ideal for their car.

I didn't mean to piss anybody off or sound like an ass. I think I have the answer from AEM and if anyone cares to know I would be glad to share when I have confirmed that the problem is solved.

No nothing like that its all good. I just always thought one person's .cal map really never helped anyone else directly, at least without a bit of rework anyway. Since an individual .cal map is NEVER interchangable between two vehicles, why be super secret about it?

you now i think i have posted this before about sharing maps. because the ems allows you to finely tune. EACH MAP FOR EACH CAR WILL BE DIFFERENT. i know no one has the exact setup as the next person. even if you did buy the same setup.

Dude, do you just show up in random threads and type the first thing that comes to your head?
I'm waiting for "I like bananas!" from you or something.
Anyone in this subforum is aware that maps will vary. The discussion was about sharing maps for the purpose of diagnosing an issue. Go play in Off-Topic, or traffic.

yeah thats my ultimate goal maybe you should read the whole thread without him allowing us to see his cal then it is hard to diagnose.

you dont have to post up your cal file. simply post up a log with all of your boost info on it and that would help.

seriously though...aem log is your best friend! there is more than enough info to log to troubleshoot ANY issue with the car.
go into your internal logging and set it up to log all of your boost parameters
too many guys either are just too lazy to set it up and would much rather complain about shit that they could figure out on their own.

you will never be able to download a cal file and load it and have your car run great.alot of the maps i have seen posted up look like such junk that i would never use it anyway.the best place to start on a tune quite simply is the beginning.

Man Jay, I can seriously relate to that one! I've probably started over a dozen times on my own map alone. Of course, the more you do it, the easier it gets...
