Default Boost Creep

Ok...Im trying to boost comp. I can not get my car to just run off the wastegate. It will run on only 9 psi til like 4500-5000 then towards redline(7000) it will sometimes creep to 16psi. I did a boost leak last week before the track and the only leak I have is around my injectors and it is tiny. Im running off AEM Boost Soleniod. All of my vac lines are correct(onthedwnlow will vouch for that) cuz he went over them with me last week. Im at a loss a little help plz..

mike you need to describe this better....i was trying to setup his boost control....with the wg inverted or non inverted it was never consistant to what numbers corosponded to what psi levels.....even with the proper boxes to run vss boost and the graph setup it would not even run that......i finally after 2 hours got it to run a decent boost level but with solid boost number straight across it would jump between 5-8 psi up towards higher rpm's.....i think i ended up with something like a 21 psi of boost was on 41% duty when 99% duty was low boost.......and at redline it was really messed up numbers

my boost control granted i have a 14 psi spring and he has a 9 psi.......i only run 22% duty to produce 24 psi and 0% =14 psi spring pressure.....he really needs some help

sounds like you need to tweak your boost gain setting (the main screen that pops up when you click on teh turbo icon). too high of a number will cause boost to creep, too low and boost wont hold

if you click the turbo button icon on the menu bar. the main first screen that comes up is the one you want to alter. dont think its titled boost gain, but maybe wastegate duty cycle

We think it may be the Wastegate itself...Imma try and get another one tomorrow and give it a try.

Assuming you have checked your datalog and are 100% sure the WG is only receiving a 0% duty cycle from the solenoid, the first thing to try would be to eliminate the solenoid.

Run a line from the turbo directly to the bottom port on the WG, then go out and datalog a pull. If the same boost creep happens - it's not the solenoid/EMS settings. If it doesn't happen, it is the solenoid and/or EMS settings.

If it still boost creeps on the WG running alone, you need a larger dumptube. If you are running a newer AGP kit, unfortunately they made the dumptube diameter too small for larger turbos and you will get major boost creep, exactly as you describe. I have seen it with my own eyes on a GT35R - 8-10psi until around 5000 rpms, then boost climbs to the sky and doesn't stop until you let off the gas. I made a new, larger dumptube for that car using the same 38mm WG and there were no more boost creep problems afterwards.

x2 that definately seems the more logical approach to the problem

One thing you can try is just to remove the dumptube completely - then go make a pull. I wouldn't do it if you still have the stock coolant bottle, but otherwise you should be ok for ONE pull.
