Default AEMTuner and AEMPro questions

Theres seems to be two separate software programs one is the AEMPro and the other is AEMTuner.

The Pro is what comes on the CD and It seems like its the software thats always referenced.

The tuner is not on the CDROM but is downloaded from the AEM website/forum.

The Tuner a beta application that will eventually replace the Pro, correct? Can the Tuner be used with the V.19 base cals for the SRT-4? The version I downloaded and installed is 0.2.4, this is the latest version, correct?

It seems to me that you would maybe do the major settings or setup within the Pro and then use the Tuner for tweaking later on or revert back to the Pro to do something thats not yet function/supported within the Tuner.......am I correct with this,

Semi related, I am correct to download and start with the 1510cams.V.19cal? It seemed to me that from what I read this cal is to be used as the base cal if have aftermarket cams.

If above has been covered and I missed it = my apologies....please point me to the thread going over these details.

i use the pro version. i learned teh hard way that i dont update my tuning software until all the bugs are worked out. too much money and time invested to update just because i can. when aem swaps over to their new software, i say go for it...however, i wouldnt count on it for a year or so

Anyone know why when you open any SRT-4 cal with tuner it comes up with like 3 errors when you first start it....Rad fan and a/c fan running out same output for example.

I would just download the Tuner and check it out. The download is not too big and the install does not effect the Pro from what I can tell with a mild looking at the files. I would be very careful with doing anything live with beta software, generally with beta software just play with it and see what you like and note stuff which does not work.

Off the bat it has help info within what they call the work space which means that when you click an item/menu/feature you have guidance without needing to open up a manual or a separate help file.

The Tuner was being worked on as a replacement for the Pro but it seems like from what I can find by reading on the AEM forum that the lead developer/programmer moved on and the Tuner software is dead in the water right now as a live project.

I spoke to Jay on the phone about tuning my car and as a side conversation I was pretty much told to stick with the Pro as for use for right now.
