knock control is setup correctly, you just cant observe it easily...that is if i understood aem correctly. and you can observe the knock easily, if you datalog. it just will be in VERY small intervals.

if you dont have knock retard turned on, you wouldnt see anything either way. if you were to log knock voltage, you would see if any knock sensor activity occoured. that is what i do

Decel/accel fuel and fuel cut off ... try to change your fuel off options ( in options - decel fuel ) Above RPM to like 25000 for testing ( dont leave it like this )

And see if the bucking goes away ( this essentially turns off DFCO ) you can then adjust these options to get a better grip on when dfco works.

getting the non-uego AEM EMS in a few days and was wondering:

1:what is needed to get the EMS up and running?
2:do i need an additional map sensor or other sensors?
3:where are the base maps found for big turbo srts?

some mods:
50 trim
stage1
RC 650cc injectors w/supporting fuel mods
Eboost EBC....etc...

there is a pretty good 50 trim map here, not the one with the CAMS. it is setup for rc750's but you can scale them down and go from there. Also AEM does a great job controlling boost so you may not need the EBC. being so new there are not allot of maps, my car has 4 hours of dyno time tuesday. I will post up a 91 piss and c116 map when it is done. and if you can sell the S1 it does noting at all with the AEM, hell my stock pcm has a blown inj map and wont rund throws a P0203 but works great with the AEM.

If you will be running more than 19 lbs boost you need a different map sensor. I HIGHLY recommend finding a local aem certified tuner to make you a base map based on your setup. it shouldnt take all that long. But the 50 trim map should be a good place to start if you dont have a aem tuner local.

i have a great local tuner which should be able to tune me perfectly...

1. Should i load the 50 trim map and have him tune from there?

2. where can i get the map sensor from?

I have a 3 bar GM map sensor...would that work?

yes GM sensor will work fine you can load the 50 trim map if you like and use that as a starting place .. but if you have a good enough tuner they will likely create thier own.

thanks for the help guys.....talking to Aaronneon i decided that i'm going to just buy a stage 2 3 bar map sensor for the pnp and ease of use!

I'm going to be installing this next week and hopefully tuned a few days later. I will be able to post up my final 50 trim map as i can't seem to find a 50 trim map for a stock motor....

Yes aaronneon is a good resource and is very correct. This will be easiest. Make sure to get 2 tunes one for low octane ( this should be first as it will be low boost and not so agressive on the ignition tune ) and another .. the fun one. Post both as they will be both very helpful to those that read here. I recommend 2 tunes since you can feel perfectly safe sharing the less agressive one. how much boost are you running now?

I was wondering how much will having or not having the AIT sensor in the intake effect my tuning, should I cut a hole in my intake and get a grommet and place it in the intake, or should I not worry about it since its just sitting tucked away in my engine bay... What plus and negatives might I experience?
