Default AEM EMS tuning class

Would there be any real interest in a AEM tuning seminar/class? Would you guys be interested in a class at a centralized location for a 2 day class?

If so please post up how serious you are and how much you feel this class should cost...

*LET ME BE VERY CLEAR* This isn't a bring your problem and have a pro fix it then tune it. Just a class on how to operate the system.

Well heres the deal, the tuners name is John Reed. The issue with EFI 101(which i 100% support) is that they pick and choose where they want to go when they want to go. As well as this will be specifcly geared towards the AEM platform. EFI 101 teaches for all the systems(motec, haltec, aem, vipec...etc). I have called EFI 101 and they dont release there new schedule until Aug or Sept. But even then there all over the place.

With John (who originally pitched this too the supra crowd) he will come to one centralized location, 6 man class MAX, 500 a piece. IMO, thats a great price to get one on one training. There will be dyno tuning as well.

My plans are to put together a 'basics book' of how an engine actually works during all the firing cycles as well as what effects each sensor and such...Theres a lot of things going on at once that i think most of the SRT crowd takes for granted.

Not to hijack, but is there any interest in a class on how to fix AEMs when they go bad? I really like the AEMs, have a bit of a rep for setting up cheap Honduh boxes as universal standalones, but they are a fragile piece of hardware.

For example the 1NV04s used for injector drivers/LS/HS are easily upgradable in 3.5 and 6 amp flavors; while I wouldn't care to subject the tiny traces on the AEM board to a 6A load, you get the idea. Also, the v1.0 boxes (soon to be superceded, but saturating the used market) were designed by a digital idiot as demonstrated by their cruddy support of VR sensors. I'd be more than happy to demonstrate how to configure an LM1815 based circuit, or how to manually set up an opamp.

I wouldn't want a large chunk of cash, hell just get me drunk on Guinness, but I'd expect people with a basic hobbyist level understanding of electronics.

So no one else is interested????

500 for CUSTOM lessons and the ability to tune your car whenever V.S. paying a shop 700 per tune and 100-150 per extra hour to modify youe tune????

It pays for itself after the first intake manifold or set of injectors you get.

Holy shit! Is that what a tune/re-tune really costs on average?

I need to get with the program! I've been jipping myself!

Back on topic: Guys, if you plan to EVER run an EMS, I'd highly suggest getting lessons on how to use it, as the lessons will most certainly pay for themselves the moment you purchase an EMS. I can't tell you how many times I've retuned my car just trying different things! If I had to pay someone to do it for me every time, I would be bankrupt!
