Last year was my very first time at the track. I ran 14.96@ 98mph. Not good. This year I am much better at driving the car and added a couple of mods so I will go back in a couple of weeks. I hope i won't be disappointed.
Thanks guys for all your posts. I will try some different things to see If my time improve.
An aftermarket front mount intercooler (like the pt performance direct fit) would help your mph go up by 3 to 5 mph in the quarter mile. Also you might have boost leaks somewhere. I just got my car tuned and found out that it dyno'd at only 208whp stock which was why I was turning a 14.5 at 97. I had a massive boost leak out the throttle body and two holes on my hot side pipe that were leaking as well. Get it boost leak tested, get a different intercooler, and then see what happens. I just don't understand how you could be putting out 276hp to the wheels and getting a slow mph like you are. What were your torque numbers? Maybe they were really low...

I just got my BONE stock, no CAI, stock air filter, stock exhaust 05 SRT4 to the track Sunday and side stepping the clutch with a single wheel hop and chirp, then no hop or chirp ran 2.08 and 2.09 60'
1/8th was 9.00 and 9.02 at over 80
1/4 was 13.84 and 13.88 at 101+ and 100+
I shifted at 5500 1-2 and 5800 for the 13.84 pass and 6000 for the 13.88 pass.
I was on cheap Sumitomo HTRZ 225x45x17s with pressure at 32/30 and had 1/2 tank of BP 93 in it. My passenger seat is out, but my drag strip calculator shows that the car would have slowed by under .10 with it in....I did not take out the baby seat, but did remove the spare and jack.
Maybe your timing is getting pulled back. My car seems about 60 hp less when I used regular 87 in the winter time...still had the boost, but not the power.
Drag strip calculator? that like a computer program or something?
It is a disgusting launch, the broken axle is proof of that. But is seems like I am good low end but top end sucks. I think I really need to add some timing up top.

A real good at the tires hp calculation follows in a bit. It is great for use as far as what would happen if I took x amount of weight out...or what if I use this to see how fast I would go if I added another x hp at the tires. It does not take mph into effect and it works best if you have consistant hook....or if you have hook sometimes then not others you can see how much HP was wasted due to spin. It works on every car I or friends have owned. ALSO, if you did nothing to the car but put on shorter tires which made you run quicker it will show more HP evenh though you did nothing else.
Total wt X 200 =
now divide that by the ET 3 times
= at the tire hp
Some examples:
A stock powered Horizon that I have raced since new
2065 X 200 = 413000 divided by 17.00 3 times = a paltry 84 hp
The same car when new with the HO 110 hp motor, 5 speed, and not gutted
2525 X 200 = 50500 divided by 16.2 3 times = 118.7 hp
My bone stock SRT4
3190 X 200 = 638000 divided by 13.84 3 times = 240.6
Now you figure the formula backwards....lets say I put the drivetrain of my SRT4 into the Horizon and it weighs 100 lbs more than now
2165 X 200 = 433000, now divide by the hp 240.6 = 1799.6, take this and use a scientific calculator to get the cube root of it for what the new et would be assuming the traction was equals to that in the original SRT4 and the air conditions were the same....12.16 to 12.17
Weight does not matter as much to a high hp car than a low one. About 35 lbs is worth a tenth on the lowly Horizon, while near 200 lbs equalled a tenth on my old NOS fed high 11 second turbo GLH.
2880 X 200 = 576000 divided by 12.57 3 times = 290 (dynoed 289)
but
2880 x 200 = 576000 divided by 12.1 (slick time) = 325
so i'd say it works good for street tire times but not for slicks...
also i'm gonna guess since i got so damn close to my actual HP i dont think the car is capable of any more than the 12.57 on streets.
