Default New best time for me 11.87 at 118.94 mph

Well today I went to Atco and it was packed. Ended up getting 3 runs in. First runs went 12.73 at 115 mph missing 3rd gear. My second run was the best to date with a 11.87 at 118.94 mph with a 1.86 60'. My last last pass of the day was a 12.004 at 119.24 mph with a 1.95 60'. Boost was set at 22 psi and I was running Q16 race gas, but was still getting kicked out of HOM around the 1/8 mile once my fuel system is complete and I can hold HOM and turn the boost up a pound or two I dont see a problem with the car going 122-123 mph.

Sounds good, are you running slicks or DRs? Get it nailed down and it sounds like you would be a good race with 95neonman who also just posted a new times thread.

Is your car under S3 PCM control, or are you running something to tweak it a little?

I was running 24.5x8x15 m&t slicks. For fuel i'm running a full s3 fuel system with 750's and a 255, but no bottleneck mod and it starts going lean on the top end and by redline its 12.5 af and as the rpm's go up you can see the fuel pressure go down. I think once I get my lsd and sbc s3 in (stock clutch still) along with an alignment and my fuel system done where I can hold HOM I dont think mid 11's will be a problem. Also I'm running a s3 ecu with a DSP but just use the dsp to pull a little bit of fuel on the low end I wouldn't even consider it a tune.

What do you think the problem is with it kicking you out of HOM?

I did not WOT 1st-2nd because I did on my first run and blew the slicks away when I hit second so I lifted 1st-2nd and WOT the rest. I think the HOM problem is lack of fuel. If I fatten up the top end I think it will be fine. I was also using q16 which is oxygenated and will lean it out a tad more. On pump gas and straight m1 meth (was running straight meth at the track yesterday also) in 3rd gear at 6k I was at 12.0 a/f. I'm sure with the q16 I was at 12.2-12.3 especially in 4th. If I get it down to 11.5 a/f I think it will hold. The car seemed to like the straight meth as I picked up almost 4 mph since the last time I was there (was running 115mph) I guess it kept egt's down. No timing or boost changes where made since the last time I was at the track either and was about 15 degrees warmer yesterday than the previous time.

So you are actually able to tune your car with DSP in HOM mode? I noticed that it seems to always revert to the same tables when I turn HOM ON.

No but I should be able able to change fuel as HOM is just a different timing map. It should use the same fuel map for HOM also. I have not used the DSP to really tune anything yet beside change fan temps and pull a little fuel on the bottom end.

Dont quote me on this, but I believe HOM is a little leaner on the fuel side, along with the massive timing it gives you! I read that somewhere on here, I believe neondan posted that, and I quoted it!

What about boost levels. Will you be able to increase boost in HOM? I found that my boost levels are always at 26 peak 23 @6K when in HOM even after I increased boost. I did notice the increase in boost when HOM was off. i was able to peak 28 and 24-25 @6K. The other odd thing is, I cannot seem to increase timing when HOM is off. The highest I got to was 27degrees @6K no matter how much timing I add.
Seems like I can't adjust both boost and timing at the same time. I either stick with HOM off and adjust boost while timing stays the same OR go with HOM ON with 35-36degrees @6K but boost stays at 26psi max.

great runs! I take it you don't have an LSD trans?

I gotta get to (that) track soon. In what span of time did you get 3 runs in?
