Default First try ever.... (12.99)

I went to the track to run for my first time ever today. My mods are in my sig, and I'm using a generic tune on my Predator. I'm running REALLY low timing, 18-20*, and I was running 24psi. I was on 225/45-17's street tires, half worn. I had no clue how it was launching at a track, so I just kinda guessed between 3200-3500. I didn't wanna smoke the tires off the line, but I got a LOT more traction than I expected and I bogged it a touch. It was just a test and tune day, so I wasn't even trying to get a good reaction time, I just wanted to try to launch good.... which didn't work out... haha.

I granny shifted, as I will continue to do until I get my WOT box. It was hopping really really bad at first so I let off a touch and then got back into it.... I was REALLY happy with my times though!!!

60ft: 2.275 (yuck)

1/8th: 8.614 @ 85.091

1/4: 12.999 @ 114.489

Here's the video which includes the HORRIBLE launch:

On streets I do about 2500-3000rpms and ride the clutch a fair amount to keep from blowing the tires off. And your low timing is indeed whats causing the 114mph trap. I would shoot for 22-25* on pump imo

2.275 60ft Yeah, I know that's horrible. It started wheel hopping hardcore so I HAD to let off a little then roll back into it.

Man, you should be trapping low 120's with those mods. Get that little bastard tuned already and throw some slicks on it. 11's will be in your near future.

even with that trap, I would have expected atleast mid 12's on that kind of power. Get that thing on a dyno and tune that beast. Trust me you will see a huge improvement.

Oh believe me, I NEED a tune... When I floor it right now say in mid 3rd, my timing drops to 12* and raises to 20* by redline.... SLOOOWWWW I'm not above 17* of timing until over 5200rpms....

When I was running my ems, when I floored it mid 3rd gear, my timing would drop to 23* and raise to 26-27* by redline.... Water Meth FTW!!!

I'm on a SAFE canned tune right now, saving up for a trip to TruDyno Sports to get a tune!!! I can't blame them for wanting to be safe on the canned tune, I'm just having an issue with my Dsport for some reason. I keep adding timing and it's not changing anything. I even tried adding timing to both categories, and still nothing. It got to the point where I was adding 5*, and I didn't see any change, so I added 3* more, did another pull and I datalogged 1 less degree of timing than when I had it a t 5* added????? No knock AT ALL on any of the pulls, and IAT's were consistantly within 5 degrees on all runs.
