Default 60' times

What are you guys launching at to get 2.0 and 2.1 sixty foot times on street tires. The best I do is 2.3's and 2.4's. Thanks

I launched anywhere between 1800-2200 rpm's depending on track conditions and how the car was hooking. I also gently rolled into the throttle which took me a lot of practice to get right because it's very easy to get excited and just mash the gas. There are many other things to consider though, besides just what RPM everyone is launching at in order to cut a good 60'.

These are equally important

1. Practice
2. Good track prep
3. Better than average street tires (Falken Azenis RT-615 for example)
4. Lowering tire pressure some.
5. Upgraded motor mounts and other suspension mods

Track is important because some of them are slick, especially when someone in front of you drags water up from the water box.
My 615 Azenia's do not give me as good traction as Goodyear RSAs which I run 2.01 on a good run. I lower the pressure to 28.
Dog Bones help and adjustable coilovers are great to help the wheel hop.
It takes practice to feather the clutch so I take off just off idle with streets on.

I like my pt cruiser rims with BFG drag radials, much better than streets; I just cut a 1.973 with a 8.357 at 86,132 mph. 2.3 and 2.4s get me mad because the slow cars outrun us but that is the nature of these cars that mildly modified.

Thanks man. Yeah the 2.3 and 2.4's are causing me to get smoked. Im running low 9's and that sucks. Especially when you are running 20 psi, people tend to think srt's are slow because of track times. When you roll race them and smoke there ass they change there tune though.

See sig. I did back to back 1.8's on street tires. Staged, pulled E-brake up, let out clutch slowly, eased on the gas until the car squatted then nailed it. Track was very well preped that night! Spun in 1st for about 2ft only.

i ran a 2.2234 sec 60' on street tires, at 32psi in each. i launched at about 2000. i hooked pretty nice with nearly no traction problems. My tires were on here when i bought the car, used. they are Continental ContiTouring 195's, and pretty much suck lol. So i was excited to see that good of a 60'!

I launch around 2000 on street tires, my best was 2.120 and I was still spinning at the top of 1st gear.
