thanks for the response nick.

i talked to my machine shop today. they are pretty huge advocates for calico coated bearings. thanks for the headsup on the bearing tolerances.


any particular reason why you use oversized main bearings? is it something due to the design of your strap kit? just curious, as my shop asked as well.

any adverse effects if i end up changing em out for standard sized mains/coated?
and do you kno how much oversized they are? .010 over?

with the straps torqued down it changes the load across the main caps and may slightly distort the line-bore making it out of round. the line honing ensures it is perfectly round again
