Hit up your local tire shop. They can order stock wheels for you for cheap. I bought mine (ironically, I needed pt cruiser wheels for a pt cruiser lol). I believe I paid 36 bucks per wheel from a local shop. Discount tire can also get them, so if there's one close by hit em up.

what about the vw rims??? Which is better/wider for a slick??? Cheaper?

I dont know anything about these rims so if anyone does then please include years of production, size, and weight if possible(or just more or less than the steelies).

If you can get them, the jetta steel wheels were 6.5" wide, whereas pt steel wheels are only 6" wide. Nevertheless, I still managed to run 26X8.5X15" slicks on my pt cruiser steelies with no issues at all. As for price, I don't see why they wouldn't be close to the same as the pt cruiser wheels. Just make sure you get the correct bolt pattern as I believe there are 2 different patters for the jettas depending on years
