The number one cause of blown transmissions is infact the wastegate. You will most likely be alright, the one thing I learned quickly is DO NOT BOOST IN 4th GEAR!!! I cannot stress this enough...the overdrive in these transmissions are NOT built to handle the stress of boost. So when you're getting on it on the freeway down shift into 3rd then get on it and don't continue into 4th gear in full boost. My car made 228whp and 293ft.lbs torque when my trans went out at 22K miles. 2300 bucks later for a built tranny and I'm making close to 400whp and no problems YET lol

When I go to the track, or when I just want performance I always leave it in 3rd not overdrive. I actually have a plane jane auto, no a/s but the only difference is in the wiring...same tranny tho.

Guys have lost 41TEs on stock everything before...it's not uncommon. Not really a matter of if, more a matter of when the trans is going to fail. Obviously the more mods you throw at it the less life you're going to get out of it. I had Stage 1, intake, exhaust, hardpipes, agp wga, mbc, plugs, wires, and meth when mine went out. My advice would be if you have any kind of warranty, make sure you keep all your stock parts so if/when the trans goes out you can just put the stuff back on. I voided my warranty the first week I got the car so... lol

It's a shame that AJ-aka Transman developed the upgraded/re-engineered trans AFTER you got yours done. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow is dry and since it will be cold, I am hoping slow roll then fast times...

Yeah tell me about it...if I would have known about AJ about 8 months sooner I may have went for his trans instead. Then again I'd still be waiting for trans money since it's about an extra 1400 bucks to get his trans and have it installed lol

Well Justin, it seems that you have more time to tune and work on the PT. Cali has cancelled the racing due to rain.....

do a search for tranman on PTCrew.com. That's where you'll find all the info. If you're fairly local to him (LI, NY), he is thinking about putting together a seminar for performance building the 41te.
