I am trying to help my uncle out. He has an 03 or 04 pt cruiser gt. He installed a K&N open filter, a Jet stage 2 chip and had a magnaflow muffler installed. He also installed some Champion spark plugs( Due to availability where and when he was buying plugs).
All of this was installed in June-July of this year and it ran great with no problems until 2 weeks ago or so. During easy acceleration it runs smooth and normal but when he jumps on it, He says it pops and sputters and eventually cleans out and goes but runs rough until he is less than half throttle or so.
He did a quick look over the engine bay and didnt see anything out of the ordinary but he did pull the plugs and said they were dark.
Any ideas? Im thinking either the plugs are junk or there is a boost leak but I wanted to check with any other pt owners to see what they think.
He also uninstalled the jet chip but he said it got worse so he put it back in.

tell your uncle to change his plugs and whires to fill up the tank and put a full fuel system clean up additive and the car should run better than ever
the stock wires are junk. get new wires and plugs.
