Default SRT Cruiser if I may...

I just finished my engine... no... drivetrain swap yesterday. It was 2 years in the making, but well worth the wait. It was a 3 week fiasco running into multiple parts that were different that was unforseen until after I ripped the NA engine and 41TE out. At the moment, I am really suffering during the breakin period. 415 miles to go. I've swapped in a S1 SRT drivetrain including T850 LSD trans, mopar short shifter, solid torque rods, AGP WGA, RFL BOV, GReddy TT and Profec B. Also, SRT wheels, brakes (less ABS) and seats. For now, I haven't hooked up the boost controller, or boost for that matter. I just don't want to blow the breakin. I still need to tie up a couple of loose ends and I thought you guys might be able to help.

1. I want a true CAI... will relocate battery to rear if necessary... SRT one will not work due to extensive engine bay room.

2. If anyone can find a part number for the body side of the transmission mount (SRT4) that would be great. My wife (a chrysler parts person) and I looked in Star Parts and found that the PN they give you (and send you) is actually the body side center engine mount. I have one fabricated, but I want this to look as factory as possible.

I'm sure I will come across more questions as I get closer to being "done" with my car. But for now, I'm just happy it is driving again. Clutch/trans works great. Engine runs good (for NA) after breaking a cam (intake cam NA 2.4/exhaust stock SRT4), brakes work great. Can't complain. Any help would be appreciated. I also have to thank that Tampa guy I met at Chrysler Training Center in Orlando for encouraging me to complete this transformation... and selling me the SRT4 engine.

This pic was taken just after I got the wheels, but nothing else was done yet.

Zero miles... waiting for it's new home (hope it's not disappointed)

I also ditched the plastic intake manifold for the aluminum one. I guess the plastic is 5 more hp... but I don't trust it to extra boost

I'll make sure to get more pics soon.

I figured the turbo is still getting some breakin and the boost issue... lets just say... I cannot guarantee my self control... better safe than sorry.

The plastic intake manifold flows a lot better. I know guys running 400+ hp and 20+ boost with the plastic intake. The srt engine is the same as the PT GT engine. Just different intake manifold, throttlebody and intercooler plumbing along with different intercooler. You must have had fun getting the srt tranny to fit considering it's longer than the Getrag tranny and the PT engine bay is so damn tight. All in all it sounds like you did a great job and will be enjoying the rewards soon.

Check this site out. http://www.ptcrew.com/
Lots of PT turbo gearheads there. One guy has a 600+ hp monster. They'd really be interested in your swap.

I might have to do that after work today... For the mean time... here's more pics.

SRT4 drivetrain

smoothed aluminum intake manifold soon to be powder coated

SRT4 seats

Losing some altitude

Another engine bay shot

Intercooler??? What intercooler??? lol

Underneath... You can see the torque rod, oil cooler, and a slight glimpse of the trans and caliper

yeah, rear calipers too... this conversion wasn't too bad (buhbye drums). I still have to set up the e-brake before I start using the turbotimer.

I used the PT brackets because they have that solid bar that runs across the rear of the seats, it bolts right up, but they aren't that comfortable... esp. because I'm not necessarily small. I fit in the seats when they are in a neon... but in the PT, they press against my legs a little much... I plan on lowering the brackets later... just trying to figure out how I'm going to do that and not look crappy.
