I have never taken the seat off, but from the looks of it the seat sits on a metal frame so any other seat you put in will have to sit on the same frame. Bolting the seat directly to the floor will be far too low. Your best bet would be to section out a piece of the frame.

i don't think i'll have to do that with the srt seat...

i don't plan on bolting it to the floor - that tube looks to be an important part of bracing anyway - i wouldn't want to cut into it.

I talked to a guy who bolted the SRT-4 Viper Style Seats right in.... He is on this board and works for chrysler.

granted i've never looked at the bolt pattern very closely, i find that hard to believe considering they use a different sized and spaced slider for the seats. so unless the platform has extra holes, or the viper seat can be mounted to the ptgt slider i doubt it...

but that would be good news if it was true.

You will probably bolt the seat to the PT slider.

Default PT Cruiser seats

Hi,
Well I started out wanting to lower my seats, but last night a friend helped me install the eibach lowering springs. Man what a difference...I no longer feel like I am about to fall through the windshield....not only did the springs lower my GT and help the handling and looks but it also affected the seating position in a very positive way...now I don't feel like I am tipping forward...WOOOHOO! I still want to try an SRT4 seat in the future but I am in no rush now as the springs helped in more ways than I thought they would....thanks for all the replies....Nick

That sounds right... why would he lie after showing me 2 neons with a full stage 3 SRT-4 swap, then he sells me a brand new crank after doing all of the research to find out that there is one new PN that superceeds the previous ones. (confirmed by brnghrd on the other board). Unless the guy has done all the work and is a tech with 20 years exp. but lies about seats bolting up....but you never know I guess

I am sure if a regular srt-4 seat bolts up a viper seat would also since they are direct replacements.... Seems like you could find a regular seat (Srt-4, sxt, etc...)and test fit before you kick out the 5 bills for the front seats.
