If you are doing any kind of spirited driving, reach down and turn that Trac Control off. I make it a habit, rain or shine, to turn mine off. In snow, I'll leave it on. If you happen to get on it the wrong way, and Trac Control is on, you'll spin an axle. Seen it happen. As for the autostick, if you do any mods above stock, start an "Auto Trans Replacement Fund". It's more a matter of when, not if, the 41te will break. The good news? For not much more than a stock replacement, a really nice bullet proof autostick is available from A&A transmission. It's still under development, but has held the power of big turbo with no complaints for quite awhile now. If I were you, I would make it a priority to get the tranny flushed and filled with Mopar ATF+4 (No substitutues or additives!!!). And then, drive in autostick. It's more fun, and I believe your tranny will last longer. The main cause of failure is smoked 3-4 clutches, due to seeing too much boost in 4th. If you're on the highway, and need to pass, down shift it to 3rd. Use 4th only as a cruise gear. Your tranny will love you. Second priority, would be Stage 1. It's a building block to everything else you'll want to do, plus, it's fun on it's own. Third, get on over to
www.ptcrew.com and join up there as well. All the PT gearheads hang there. Most have dual citizenship here, as well, but all the good info is contained at that site.
And most important, have fun and enjoy the PT!
