Default exhaust

i was wondering what kind of exhaust systems that you guys are using? I was thinking about getting a magnaflow muffler and going 3" all the way back with a resonator. can anyone give me some sugestions on what would help to give max performance? is there any premade systems that give very nice performance for a decient price? i also do not want a super loud exhaust. thanx in advance.

so quick question about it then, will it pass emissions without the cat on it and is it really loud when you get on it? where did you buy it from and how much did it set you back?

oh shit, i am sorry, i didn't read that it was in the gt cruiser section. needswings makes a bad ass dp with a electric cutout for the gt. and no, my exhaust wont pass emissions. but i am not worried about that.

I'm currently running 2.5" duals all the way back, no mufflers no cat just a magnaflow SS resonator in the midpipe. That's mated to a 3" downpipe which is mated to a custom 2.5" 02 housing which is mated to a 50 trim turbo. I've been toying with the idea of selling my 2.5" exhaust and going with a 3" single exit with a magnaflow xl muffler without a chrome tip. Tryin to go for the stockish sleeper look while making more power at the same time. You dont need a 3" exhaust unless you're going big turbo. Hell, there's an srt guy on here, whitemtn or somethin like that, who made 400whp with the mopar borla exhaust

so would it be better if i went 2.5" all the way back with magnaflow resonator and muffler? would it be cheaper to just buy the full system that magnaflow makes or would it be better to buy the parts and have a shop custom bend the pipeing?

Much cheaper to have an exhaust shop do it for you. Hel you don't even have to buy the parts, just tell the exhaust shop what you are looking for. Chances are they can get the parts cheaper than you can. My 2.5" duals with magnaflow resonator cost me 216 bucks for everything except tips. Exhaust shop wanted 40 bucks to weld 2 magnaflow tips on there and I declinded. Went right across the street to pepboys and bought 2 tips for $5.99 a peice and put them on myself

An exhaust shop by my house fabbed a 2.5" catback, cut off the flange at the cat for better flow and mounted a single magnaflow muffler. The whole thing looks stock, no resonator was need since it is a turbo and it is not too loud. Officer Friendly is not the wiser......

3" cat back no resonators or mufflers would get you pulled over before you could back out of your driveway out here Sucks living in the only state that can't use a high flow cat either

That's what I am after, performance while looking stock. I currently have a Maxxfab 02 and DP mated to the stock pipe and muffler and the GT runs stronger, but sounds only a bit throatier than before. A 2.5 pipe and stock looking performance muffler are next on the exhaust mod list.
