Default chips

has anyone installed the stage 2 jet chip in theyre gt cruiser yet?
im planning on it early next year with taxes, along with new 160 thermostat, and was wondering about what it feels like. im pretty confident about ther power gain to be had, cuz i know too many people who have installed jet chips on theyre own cars.

so has anyone?

Nobody that I know of is using the Jet chip on their Turbo PT.now on the non turbos, yes there are a few, You did not say but, as this is a PTGT forum you should have a turbo?

The 3 or 4 PT GT guys I know that tried the Jet chip, wound up buying the Mopar Stage 1 kit, and sold off the Jet chips, The Mopar Stage 1 made more power, higher boost, more fuel, timing etc, and has several other things that the Jet does not have, also if you have a Automatic trans, the Mopar Stage 1 kit improves the shifts and shift points.

The Mopar Stage 1 PCM also does away with several CEL codes, like over boost, TIP & EGO codes that you get when moding the PT Turbo.

Look over at PTCrew.com for more info on the JET vs. the Mopar Stage 1 upgrades that is the only site for serious PT performance, Also I don't think you will find a Jet chip on any of the SRT4s on srtforums either (same engine as the PT Turbo)

and its a autostick, which dodge hasnt been too helpful in telling me which to buy, the s1 for atoumatic, or for a stick, thats why id rather go with the jet.
even the guys at the parts counter, the mechanics in back dont know what to say! im confused....(needless to say)

With the Mopar Stage 1, it is programed to your VIN number, for either a 5 speed or an Auto / Autostick, most dealers don't know much about the PT performance parts, they also will probably charge you to much money and unless they have done them before they do not know what is what. The best place to buy one for support and the best price is Haynes Speed Shop (Haynes Chrysler) just contact Tommy or Steve at Haynes and they can help you with all of your questions.

Believe me, I also have the Autostick in my DC4 GT HO and the Mopar Stage 1 reprograms and improves the shifts and does a lot more than a Jet Chip, the Mopar Stage 1 is not a add on, it is a all new PCM that replaces your stock PCM. But it is your car, just do your research before you buy,talk to other Turbo owners, search the web etc., just don't expect much info from your dealer unless you find one that is into performance upgrades, and remember that you cannot compare what other brand cars can or cannot do with the Jet chip, as the PT Turbo engine is not the same as any other makers engines, only the PTGT and the SRT4 use this engine and like I said, of over 4000 members on PTCrew and SRT4 forums, I don't think you will find any of them using the Jet on a 2.4L Turbo engine.

Go over to ptcrew.com and look at the GT mod bible and some other tested & proven mods for your car (if you are serious), and then I think you will see the light, there is plenty of help over there, (don't be afraid to ask questions, I retired after 27 years as a Master auto tech, and I still have learned a ton of information from the guys on the PTCrew forum), we have all power level PTs from stock to the fastest 400 to 600 hp 11 & 12 second PTs in the world on the Crew.

And it all pretty much begins with the Mopar Stage 1 upgrade!

I know of one guy that has installed the s2 jet chip. He said he liked it. But he doesn't know how it compares to a MOPAR s1 upgrade. I think he has an '03 so he doesn't have the larger injectors that come with the '03 MOPAR s1 upgrade.
