Default using scangage in other vehicles

is it possible to use the scangage in any other obdII vehicles? functionssuch as map pressure and such most likely won't work but will others like timing, knock, code reading/clearing etc work? can you damage the gauge or the vehicle pcm by trying to use it in another vehicle? i know scangage (not areoforce) is interchangeable between almost all obdII vehicles, plug and play.

The gauge will work on many 2002-2005 Chryslers, although it has many specific parameters for just the SRT4 and PT Cruiser. Our latest version, released last week, allows you to select a platform in the setup menu first. This then takes you to a list of parameters that are more suitable for your specific vehicle (Ram, Dakota, Stratus, etc). There is nothing new for the SRT4 in the new code. This is still a Chrysler specific gauge.

The reason that the ScanGauge will work on any vehicle is that it is a generic scan tool using generic code. The benefit is that you can use it on many different vehicles, the downside is that in only displays a small number of parameters, has limited features, and updates very slowly.

If you use it on some CAN vehicles it may disable the bus until the vehicle is restarted. I don't know why you'd want to install it in another brand, it won't work.

It may read codes for GM vehicles, mainly those made before 2007.
