Default SRT-4 Scan Gauge Installed, questions though....

Overall I'm very happy with these. Install was very easy and they look great.

A few questions though....

1.) How soon after you shut off the car are the gauges supposed to shut down? mine are talking about 30-45 seconds.

2.) My gauges power up when I open the door before I even put the key in the ignition. Normal or not?

3.) The Throttle Position varies between 19 and idle to 81 at WOT are those normal indications, does it have to adjusted, or is the throttle not opening and closing all the way?

4.) Manifold pressure seems to disagree with the Boost gauge. I know the stock boost gauges aren't the most reliable, but the most boost I have seen so far (On A STOCK 04) is about 12psi while the gauge is about 14psi. Not a huge difference but the lowest the vacuum has gone is about 11-12 psi of vacuum vs. 20-22psi of vacuum on the Boost gauge.

Really like this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I'll try to answer some of your questions the best i can.Todd should be chiming in here he's the technical guy.But here goes.
1.The shutdown time is normal read the manual.
2.Mine does the same exact thing normal. It never just stays on it will power it self down After a few seconds or so.
3.TPS is what it is. I don't recall exactly what mine reads but the conversion is a standard SAE format. No adjusting.
4.As for the boost pressure it seems normal to me the gauge only reads in psi not vacuum like stock boost gauge. So those readings you have are normal i think around -9psi at idle is like 15vac or 20vac i can't remember but that is the norm.As for a stock srt-4 hitting 14psi seems about normal to me.Any mods done to your car or bonestock? Also read the manual it should cover just about everything. http://www.aeroforcetech.com/files/I...AL_rev_1_4.pdf

I'll get Todd in here to answer your questions a bit better...

AJ

And the boost you see on the gauge is dead accurate...its what the MAP is seeing.

Great looking install!!! Mine will be in by the week-end, I hope. I noticed some of the same things as well as my O2 voltages all over the place. The conversion (vacuum side of the scale) is 29.92 in/hg = 14.7 psi. Mine was setting around -8.9psi at idle. Pretty close Need more time to play and do my install though.

As AJ said, the gauge displays psi both in vacuum and boost. -9 psi equates to around 19 -20 inhg. The gauge is displaying the output of the MAP sensor, so what you are seeing is what the PCM is also seeing.

It's normal for the gauges to stay on for several seconds after turning the car off. Unlocking the doors can also make them come back on for a few seconds.

Glad to hear you like them!

How do you guys like the shift lights? They may be the best part of the gauge IMO.

Remember to only set one gauge to the fastest data rate at a time, as the manual states. Otherwise you will get slower update rates.

Here's the conversion for psi to in/HG:
Multiply PSI x 2.036 = in/HG

Oddly, I just had this same basic thread on ptcrew.com:
PTCrew Scangauge Thread

Here's a list of different conversions, should you need it:

It's funny, I didn't realize how much I would appretiate the shift light until a mustang caught my attention last weekend. Had it set for 5800rpm and it worked Great. And yes I only have the Upper gauge set for max data rate, the lower one is only set to 3.
