Default New to scangauges

Hey guys,

I decided to get an AeroForce scan gauge..its about time, after owning this car for 3 years. Anyways I got my car dyno'd and the shop owner said my car was pulling timing past 4800rpms, my HP graph gets all zig zaggy and bounced up and down. My question is

-when i get the gauge what read out should i be looking at to see if and how bad the car is pulling timing?

-should i reset the PCM after installing the gauge?

Thanks!

He must be referring to knock retard when he says timing is being pulled. Watch ST (short term) knock retard for temporary adjustments to timing under load.

i've been monitoring the actual Knock Retard reading and have even done some recordings. never changes from 0.0, should i be looking at the short term fuel thing?

edit: the only things i see on the gauge with the words "short" and "long" is short term fuel trim and long term fuel trim. Do i not have the gauge that monitors the ST knock?

If the gauge is new is will have ST knock, LT knock, and knock retard (total knock). The total is fine to look at, LT is typically "0" so it's the same as ST.

Most stock cars will not have any knock running premium fuel. "0" is a good thing.
