Default Misfires on Scangauge

I'm wondering how this is calculated, or is it straight from the PCM? Just cruising around I usually have 1 or 2 counts, it happened on my F/IC and my DSP.

Is an occasional misfire normal, does anyone watch their misfires on the scangauge?

This info comes from the PCM. It is not unusual to see low numbers like that, especially when the engine is cold. There is a misfire screen in the menu that will show individual cylinders, as well as the total misfires in the normal scan mode parameter list.

OK I figured as much. I was taking the readings from the individual cylinders, like you mentioned. It's usually no more than 1 or 2 counts, on a random cylinder.

Thanks,
