Finally got my Scan Gauge yesterday and finished the install today. Hooking up the gauge was idiot-proof , the hard part was mounting it since I was trying to go for the "stock appearance".
The gauge is absolutely as good as the feedback its been getting on the forums. There is a load of information available at your fingertips, and using this thing is so simple, the manual is not required. This is a sweet little toy.
I'll get mine tommorrow....on really hot days I cant see my gauge...you guys have the same problem?
I left my car in the sun for a few hours, and after that it was a little harder to read the display. It was still readable though, if you use the "positive" display image.
It's just like my stereo. and all lcds. If they are in direct sun or real hot they fade. I cover mine with a cloth when I go into work. And a sunshade helps too.
this gauge can read air/fuel ratios right? ..
so there is no need for a wideband?
This gauge reads the stock O2 sensor voltage, and you can use this reading to estimate the A/F ratio. The gauge also has auxilliary inputs which can be used to monitor a wideband sensor. A separate A/F gauge is not really required, but you may want a wideband sensor for accurate A/F readings.
how did you guys fit the scan gauge in the stock gauge pod the legs on the back of my gauge dont reach the mounting holes of the stock pod
