Before I installed my FBM ported compressor housing and maxxfab d/p, I was hitting 295-305 consistantly with my current mods. After I installed those 2 items, I am still hitting those same numbers. This is highly unlikely since those two are power mods and according to the hp feature, I didn't gain a single hp.
Not only that, but my max hp is rated at 6500 rpms. I think this is highly unlikely since the max should be somewhere around 5600 rpms.
I'm not saying the gauge is a POS because every other feature seems to be right on but the hp doesn't seem to be.
I only bring this up because I wanted to see the gains after I installed those items and was frustrated to see there was none. I could blame it on a boost leak(s) but why would I have the same numbers as before?

There is a parameter called "Air Flow Rate" or maybe "mass air flow", I' can't remember off of the top of my head, but look at that. It's actually too late now but if you read that before and after that would tell me exactly what is happening. Basically, if the PCM cannot detect a higher air flow into the motor (read more power), then our gauge cannot either. Do you have a MAP clamp or DTEC/SAFC? Those will limit the output of the MAP sensor and fool the PCM (and the gauge).
I put in my Stage 2 computer just last week. I was reading 330 HP(holding 18psi) before, and now reading 390(now holding 22psi). Hope to dyno this weekend so ill let you know how accurate the readings are. This was from a third gear pull.
Im thinking I should be around 320 HP so maybe up to 15% off.

Yeah, I can see where the Dtec will affect it. My buddy has a 44lb wheel S3 and his gauge says he is 270hp,lol. On the dyno he made 357hp so Id say its off alittle. He has a Dtec so thats why Im guessing it off.
ok, Since NO ONE is saying anything on the subject, I'm just going to add my .02. I got my car tuned out at the Dyno and it was 294hp with 344tq. I didn't have a scangauge at the time, but after I got it, the only thing that I did to the car was a swap of a fresh set of spark plugs. On the gauge it was showing I was doing 300hp so on my opinion, it was pretty damn accurate compared to the dyno. Took the exhaust, stg 2 injectors and CAI intake off, and with the stock wga, the car went down to like 260/265. Added the PTP WGA back in again, with stock injectors, it went back up to 300+. But with a shitload of knocking (reason why I took most of that shit off) I know I gotta have a boost leak somewhere or something messing with the car to cause the knocking up on top around 5.5k rpm and up. Now I have it as high as 4 on the knock count (contrary to 7 as I had it before) and the timing dropped from 27 to 24 degrees, but kept increasing and the knock dropped 1 full point. Giving me a total of 330hp. I'm going to do a boost leak like it deserves, and good tunning at the dyno once again. I know this might not be 100% accurate, but close enough is good enough for me :
