Default Getting Aeroforce into stock boost gauge location?

Ive been running the Aeroforce for some time (thumbs up!) but every couple months I need to readjust my electrical tape I wraped around it to make it a tight fit in the holder. I guess the electrical tape stretches when the car sits.

Anyways, is there a better solution?
Thanks

yes...i never understood why aeroforce didnt make it a true 2/16 gauge...anyway, there is a write up somewhere on here about this.. i use 24 gauge sheetmetal cut 2" by 1" drilled holes to match up the scangauge, and the pod holes..then you need 2 bolts and nuts to go from the support (the sheetmetal) to the pod holes. secure the mount to the scangauge then use the bolts to secure the pod to the sheetmetal mount.. sounds hella confusing, i know, but i cant find the link to the how-to. a buddy put the scangauge into the pod, off the dash, laid it flat onto a table, centered up, and squeezed a tube of black rtv between gauge and pod, let it dry for a day and reinstalled it...kinda ghetto but holds fine..

I kinda like it not being bolted in, so I can take it out easily if need to. Just thought something between electrical tape and the sheet metal method would be best. Like a plastic ring to make the inner bezel thicker to slide in there.... *shrug*

Huh? It is a 2 1/16" gauge. Every manufacturer will have slightly different tolerances. Talk to Mustang guys trying to fit Autometer gauges into Speed of Sound pods, the Autometers are slightly larger than 2 1/16" and won't fit without trimming the pod.

What I've always done with any gauge is wrap tape around the housing if needed to make it fit snugly. I do not like using mounting brackets, makes it too hard to remove. In my case on the SRT4, I have our Interceptors mounted in a dual a-pillar pod, they fit perfectly without needing anything additional.

I got my Aeroforce in a boost pod. I cut the back brace out with a rotozip. moved it forward. Glued in back in and then took fiberglass resin and cut some old black fleece blanket ( fiberglass resin needs to bond too something) and cleaned up the mount a little (made is stronger). drilled holes for the 2 screws on the back of the aeroforce. filed the opening a little a using the resin to make it a little tighter fit for the gauge. all fits nice now I should have took pics of that build. oh well. Gotta take it out soon to tweak it. maybe I'll take some pics of it soon. I missed my measurement by like 1mm.. so there is a little gap between the gauge and pod..

Try the blue painters masking tape. That is what I used, it has a little texture to it and it won't heat up and get all gooey when the car gets hot inside.

I have had mine this way for a while now and I have not had a single problem with it moving.

I've used that blue masking tape as well. Regular masking tape works too.

Pics of Aeroforce gauge install in stock pod

here is an old thread, but my pics are still working. All I did was wrap a rubber band around the scanguage.. it was still easily removable, but never once moved when it was 'installed" in the stock pod..
