Have you tried resetting the ECU so the fuel tables trims get reset to zero. As a matter of fact before you do that check what the long term fuel trim reads on the aeroforce.

5.0 KR acceptable on race gas.. I thought race gas just lowers knock if there is knock on pump but not safe to run with more knock

uhh....yea

Knock = engine go bye bye

I set the "annunciator" to 3.0 and never look at knock...so when the gauge lights up I get off the throttle and readjust.

wow I am glad I found this thread! I use to have the older version of the aeroforce gauge and all I had the option to choose was Knock Retard. So I ended up selling it and bought a new one with fan control, etc. Well I have always thought setting it back to knock retard was what I needed to monitor. Now by reading this it seems that is not the case? I need to be watching the ST knock correct? I have not been seeing anything on the regular knock retard and have never setup the annuciator until reading this post. So have I been looking at the wrong knock setting the whole time? It looks like I should have been looking at the ST and not the knock retard.......

no knock retard is what you need to be looking at...st is short term knock. cause when u a watching knock retard the timing is retarding and if it retard too much as said above...engine goes bye bye. KR is correct watch that one and your good.

I'm sure this is explained somewhere here already but the knock retard (total)parameter is actually short term plus long term. Typically your LT value will be zero, so the ST knock will = knock retard (total). Some cars will have enough knock to cause the PCM to store a LT knock value, and if additional knock is detected and taken care of with ST knock retard, then knock retard (total) will be LT + ST.

no read what forcefedjunkie said

Use ST Knock (it's what I use).

If you get enough knock and watch LT knock the second you hit 1psi the knock counter will pop up the degrees of timing it's pulling (even tho at that particular moment you aren't knocking per say).

ST Knock and set the annunciator to warn if ST Knock goes > 3.0 and just look at two other variables when driving. If the light goes off adjust your tune. That's what I do and it works fine.

yes until you re-cycle the ignition then it'll go back to 0 deg of knock being pulled (at least that's what I've seen). So most importantly watch ST Knock and get it stay as close to 0.0 as possible and you know you're good.
