mounting a MAP sensor to that manifold is a matter of drilling 3 holes and tapping two of them.... not exactly false info, an overlooked detail maybe.. when offering one product with various options its easy to overlook small stuff like that..

I agree. You can for sure use this intake on a stock map sensor car.

Darrell must have forgot to make the provision for it. Mistakes happen.

not all that hard to make it work. do what the poster said before me or u can have a little block made to fit the map sensor, then have a machine shop cut a hole in the manifold and weld in the little block of aluminum. not hard to do or have done.

just have to be creative.

I had no idea you were still around ^^^

No reason to cut and weld on this. You can easily drill and tap. Would take all of 10 minutes

I have been busy with work.

I view mostly now.

also personally I wouldnt want to throw in the map tip into the manifold chamber unless the sheet metal is that thick?

Well I called DCR and was told that the stock MAP sensor won't work because it will make the car run funny without a standalone. I don't know. There is a machine shop up the street from me. I might make this work.

Default Map Sensor Fix

You can have it drilled or tapped for the factory map sensor. You can send it in to DCR and we will take care of this for free.

-OR-

You can adapt a vacuum hose to factory map sensor. vacuum hose with 1/4" to 3/8" plastic vacuum line adaptor to the bottom of the intake.

THE FACTORY MAP SENSOR WILL WORK!!

This is an option that will be added to the website when an intake is ordered. This is usually something that is specified when the order is taken. Sorry for the inconvenience.

well i have a couple questions then. ED's machine shop is up the street. they are one of your certified machine shops from your list. (Well that was a little while ago last time I remember) Can it be done there with no-charge. Getting rid of shipping and shipping time and waiting all together?

or
If I send it to you guys. how long will be my wait? I don't konw about what happen with one guy on here that has been waiting on his manifold for like 7 months. but I don't want to wait that long.

If that is the route that you choose to take then have Ed contact me (Jennifer) or Darrell when the intake is at his shop.

Thank you!

Hey David,

You can fix the stock map sensor to work with using a vacum line. After talking to you the other day, we were under the understanding that you had the car sold, and you were going to sell the intake with the car or you were going to sell it by its self. But the way it works we build these intake to work with AEM systems. But by doing the vacum line it gets everything working for you.

Thanks, Nubs @ DCR

Yeah i am planning on selling it. I have a buyer. but, I still have it. hopefully, everything goes through. I was planning on having this piece on the car when I sell it. Right now the manifold is with ED's machine shop. Oscar is the one that has it. He has not started on it. now my question for the vacuum line for the MAP sensor. is there a lenght requirement for that. I know it sounds like a noob question. but i am sure making the line too long could affect something.

ok after I called you guys (DCR). I gave the message to ED's Machine shop. Oscar, one of the guys that work with ED was telling me that it will have to be bigger then 3/8" hole. The end of the MAP sensor is basically a 1/2" and he doesn't think the hose won't fit on the sensor. So I am asking what you guys think? I know its a little late now. but, want to get your opinion.
