Default ***Our New For Sale Section***

Well, after discussion about f/s threads being moved and the heavy need for one fastattack has created our own f/s section; basically all the f/s rules apply if you don't want to ship something or want to sell to a local this is your forum if you want to sell to the whole board then of course post it in the other section so all will see it.... here are fastattacks rules cut and pasted word for word from the original f/s section... I will spend a lot of time moderating this board I like the idea of it being local it seems much safer to do business with and if someone gets ripped off please pm me... I am going to get with fast about starting a black list. but I'm not sure how the admin's would feel about this there may be a liability issue there.... Here are the rules...

......All general rules are to be followed.

Consolidate Threads. Do not post multiple threads in FS/FT, Keep all you FS/FT threads in 1 thread, and keep all WTB/WTTF threads in 1 thread. When you make a new thread, include items from the old thread in it, there is no need to bump more then one FS/FT thread or WTB thread. Warnings will be sent, repeat offenders will have merged or deleted threads. Message a mod if you need a fs/ft title changed. You should only have 1 FS/FT and 1 WTB/WTTF thread active at any time.

Usage of a 'free' e-mail address such as hotmail is prohibited. This is in order to protect buyers from people using untraceable e-mail addresses who can get away with trolling easier! Please ask for an ISP or EDU email address when dealing.

Thread crapping is not only rude; it is also not tolerated on these boards. If you feel the price is unfair keep it to yourself, if you have an issue with the price, kindly PM or email the seller informing them of this, it is up to them to decide whether or not to adjust the price.

No pirated software sales. This includes selling and buying as well. Anyone who knowingly buys or sells pirated software through this forum will be permanently banned. In addition, you may not sell Academic or NFR (Not for Resale) software. OEM software must be sold with hardware or in accordance with the terms the OEM software is sold with.

The Sale of CD-Key(s) without the original disks that it was meant to be used with is strictly prohibited.

The subject of your thread should consist of the type of transaction ("FS" (For Sale), "FT" (For Trade), "WTB" (Want to Buy), etc)

No Misleading Titles.
No Price or "interest" checks, there is no bidding allowed either.

No excessive bumping of your thread.
Excessive bumpage will not be tolerated. Bumps should be atleast 6 hours apart unless it is replying to someone else that posted in your thread. People that bump excessively will get locked threads, deleted posts, and bans will be made on those that bump excessively and often.
These are now in the rules, watch yourself or be relieved of your posting privileges.

No Shouting.
No flaming or in-before-the-lock posts.
No "contest or giveaway" threads.
No alcohol, tobacco, firearms, or pornography are to be sold here.
No "Group Buys" If you do not own it, you can't sell or trade it. (Only Supporting Vendors can list Group Buys)
No "services" allowed. (Ex. I can build xxx for you @ xxx each)
No Dealers or Vendors. (Unless you are a supporting Vendor)

My definition of a Trader is someone who buys/sells/trades as a livelyhood and is a sole means of making income. Many of the people in the FS/T forum are "professional" traders in a sense, but are interested in the trading of parts for the fun of the swap and possibly getting a little something extra in the deal. More of a game to them that a job.

If you buy something for your computer such as silicone tubing by the roll to get it at a cheap price and wish to sell the remaining roll by length, I would not call that being a "Trader". It's as close to a group buy as possible, but since you will have already purchased the product, it would be legal in that sense to sell. As long as you aren't asking for a ruling on you doing this on a continous basis, I see no problems with it.

You MUST post a price unless the item is purely FT. (trading for cash still means FS)

No auction style posts (take it to eBay). NO multi-level marketing schemes. ( THIS INCLUDES FREE IPOD's OR PLASMA CONTEST!

No linking to other sites allowed, unless it’s an image hosting site. Do not steal bandwidth from others, if you have a picture you want to share, make sure it’s from an image hosting site such as www.thisforumisdown.com or some other. This includes links to auctions or other forums.

If you are selling the same item, don’t make multiple threads each time, kindly bump the old one.

You may not charge fee's for paypal according to their service guide

Above all please handle all transactions with common sense.
We reserve the right to edit/delete posts as we see fit. Warnings will be sent if rules are violated, multiple violations = 30 day vacation or perma-ban.

If you have any questions feel free to contact any moderator via the PM feature (please make sure your PM box is empty) and enjoy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~ Quick Tips for trading ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Always use delivery confirmation, and always keep the proof that you shipped. More info in this thread CLICK HERE
2) Always ask for a real name and home address, and telephone number, and verify it with a call or a search in the white pages.
3) If the seller is suspicious, please search for info about him or contact a mod. If deal sounds too good to be true, chances are that it is.
4) Don’t jump to conclusions, email the seller if you have problems, if you have their phone number give them a call.
5) If you feel that you’ve been scammed, you can file complaints about Internet fraud directly with the FBI at their Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFFC) http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp.
You can also goto www.usps.com and file a complaint for postal fraud, and most state Attorney Generals have an online internet fraud complaint form.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Avoiding Trolls~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1. no matter what get a name address and phone number. when you get all this info confirm it by
a. phoning the phone number and checking if it is him
b. going to www.switchboard.com or a similar site and check out if the last name matches the address. If it does not find out why from the trader before selling (he might have a room mate who's name the place is under) Chances are of they won't provide a phone number, something is up.
2. don't ship first without some references available. you can get money back through different means if he takes your money but your SOL if you send something to him before he pays
3. use a credit card with paypal when at all possible. your only liable for 50 $ in damages if someone rips you off. 4. if you cannot use a credit card, use a cheque since cheques are traceable and can prove that you gave him the money if it comes to phoning the cops on him.
5. don't accept a cell phone as a phone number. it's very easy to get a cell phone number changed or cancelled than it is to get a home phone number changed or cancelled
6. record all conversation with the person that pertain to the deals of the trade. it will help if you must deal with the cops at all
7. be wary of anyone with a recent registration date. post count doesn't mean alot but registration date does.
8. It a deal seems too good to be true, chances are that it is, so be wary.

~~~~~~~~~ OUTING A TROLL ~~~~~~~~~~~
READ THIS* About "outing" a troll
If you have a problem with a buyer or seller and believe them to be a Troll then do NOT post a thread or comment about said user unless you have PROOF that the person is indeed a troll.
Claiming someone is a troll because what they are selling is "too good to be true" or any other suspicious reason is not allowed.
When "outing" a troll you must provide PROOF that the troll did indeed rip you or someone else off. This means that you or someone else started a trade whether with money or just swapping items and you or the one ripped off did not receive the item promised.
In a lot of cases items are sent but maybe not as quickly as hoped. So give the trade time to pan out before claiming someone is a troll. I suggest at least giving the trade 2-4 weeks before even thinking about claiming someone as a troll.
Believe it or not things do happen that cause people to not be able to ship on a promised date. This does not make them a troll. They should provide an explanation for such activity but in the end they do not have to as long as they do complete the trade.
If you have a problem with the speed at which someone trades then leave feedback about it on the users preferred feedback site.
The key here is to remember that EVERYONE is innocent until proven guilty!!!
Remember this and no one will get hurt.
Terminology : FS = For Sale FT= For Trade WTB= Want to Buy
