Question A Tranny Blip?

I raced my GC SRT-8 last SAT. and on one run the tranny hesitated on its 2-3 shift? It surprised me as all the others were perfect. One thing my fuel level was between 1/4 and 3/8ths full. I thought possibly a fuel starvation problem might have caused this to happen? Anybody else had this happen? Gene

Happens way to often to me, but during the 1-2 shift. Sometimes I swear I'm waiting half a second for it shift into third--this bites.
I'll pay closer attention today and see if my pauses at the 2-3 shift and get back to you.

It only did it once in 9 passes down the drag strip? Also a faint alarm sounded several times near the traps at the end of the run. It sounded like the seat belt alarm but no alarm light or caution light? The tranny blip actually caused the engine rpm to slow down then shifted and continued pulling strong? Maybe the traction control is causing this to happen and sounding the alarm? My friend (watching) said he heard the engine hit the rev limiter a couple of times too? The tach never went above 6100 rpm though? Time will tell? gene

there was a live question/answer on Cherokee srt8 forum with srt engineers last night. the shift problem came up several times by fellow jeep srt8 owners and they were told the problem is being worked on and there will be a tsb shortly.

My Buick Grand National did this stock too! The problem was in the valve body and required raising the line pressure. I'm sure DCX will try and bandaid this problem as GM did with my GN! It took a lot of testing to find the cure on that car and the fix was from a tranny expert not GM. MHO Gene
