Once SRT8 goes to production, how long before I get it?

I put my deposit down on 1/27 and I had a VIN and a status of "D". Does anyone know how long I should expect before it is delivered? I called yesterday and they said it was entering production.

Not sure, but local dealers have them on their lots.

How did you get a VIN so soon? What part of the country are you in? When I called Chrysler they said that when an order goes in you get an order # to check on status, they said nothing about a VIN. I'm not trying to be rude, just pissed that my order has still not been picked up and I put it in on Dec. 14.

I just searched around the area and was able to put a deposit on one that had a VIN. I still have no idea how long it will be. But you can still shop around and find one much further along.

Ok does ANYONE have a clue how long it takes once I have a VIN and am D status? D status means I am just about to hit production? I jsut need to know a ballpark figure for how long it takes... i need to know so I can make plans to sell my current jeep.

Well it took my srt-4 almost 4 months to complete.

From the time you got to "D" status? or from the time you ordered?

I hit "D" status on January 9th, and I'm still waiting for delivery. 2 weeks ago the vehicle was shipped to storage, and has yet to be released. Dealer has sent request for release and told me it should arrive the 23rd.

If that's the case, then from "D" to delivery will be about 6.5 weeks.

Here was my tracking info before I recieved mine as you can tell mine was in D1 status on Nov22. I did not recieve it until 1/20/06....I was lucky, a lot of guys out here on the west coast have had vin #'s for a long time and have yet to see them.
