That's right, I have almost 3,000 miles of fun on my Inferno Red SRT-8!! For those of you who are waiting, it is far better than you can ever imagine!
Oh, and I just moved here from that lame Jeepsunlimited site, where the forum nannys didn't approve of my Kill Story thread. I have had many kills already, in my SRT-8. Can't wait to start sharing stories!
extreme groceries, is your srt8 lowered or is it the way the picture is? ive seen many pics and yours looks lowered.
No, not lowered.
I know what you mean, though. In real life, the SRT-8 definitely looks very mean and lowered, but the photos do not do it justice. Even though I took the photo in the parking lot at work, I used a good camera, and chose the angle so that the photo would be a realistic representation of what it looks like.
So this is what a stock SRT8 looks like. It could be lowered some more, easily. Although, the way it is now, it does occasionally touch the front on some steep entrances, nothing serious though.
Definatly the best looking GC jeep EVER came out with!!!! I dont know if its the picture but do the side skirts fold inward towards the bottom of the car???
Also whats up with the one grey piece in the middle of the front bumper.....it looks a little "off" to me in relation with the rest of the car......I bet it would look that much better painted body color!! I cant wait for a turbo kit to be released for the SRT8......4 seconds to 60 anyone??
just came from the jeepsunlimited site and read your kills, quite impressive i must say. i'm really interested in purchasing one since it would be the closest thing to a gmc typhoon which is what i use to own. there's nothing like a awd turbo boost launch. by the way extreme groceries, can you launch your srt8 or is it not necessary since you have so much torque? also, have you looked into tuning your srt8 for more power by hennessy motorsports. if i get a srt8, i would love to have hennessy work on it for another extra 80hp.
jeepsunlimited.com under jeep grand cherokee limited forum.
Jeep owners are an incredibly stupid inbred bunch of people, and seem to have forgotten what the Grand Cherokee is all about. It is a unibody station wagon, and definitely not like the real Jeeps of old. The ZJ was the first SUV in its class to sport a V8. Grand Cherokees have always been hotrods. The SRT-8 continues that tradition. But looking on JU, it is amazing to see a bunch of guys who drive 4x4 Jeeps, NEVER take them offroad, and just spew hate all around them.
Kill stories are a normal part of any enthusiast group, but the pansies over there don't get it.
I have experienced a lot of aggressiveness from other Jeep owners on the road. And that is fine by me, because I enjoy annihilating them at every opportunity I can get.
also, have you looked into tuning your srt8 for more power by hennessy motorsports.
I have to be quite honest, I was surprised by the amount of power that the SRT-8 has.... far more than I expected. The acceleration was much more brutal than I expected. I have driven a Porsche Cayenne Turbo hard, and it has nothing on the SRT-8. Although, the Cayenne is more practical, it can actually go offroad if needed (with different tires), and feels a little more solid in its handling. Comparing power and torque though... .the SRT-8 feels like it has more than double what the Cayenne Turbo has to offer, which is bizarre when you look at the specs. It is also odd when you look at the specs of the regular Hemi Grand Cherokee, which has some impressive numbers. However, the regular Hemi feels like a slow wallowing pig compared to the SRT-8.
Soooooo.... I am going to wait a bit to see what happens and what is available before I consider mods. I do have a history of extreme mods, though, and this probably won't be any different. I have pushed this Jeep to its handling limits, and right now I feel that improvements could be made to the handling before I would try for even more power.
