Here's my question,.....Does the DCR oil pick-up affect the results at all? Do people who have them see more gains than the people who don't? I ask because it seems as if the DCR pick-up is ramming the oil up to the head due to it's increased flow design and it needs something to slow it down(modifier). My buddy without the modifer has a cold start oil pressure of 90 and above with the DCR pick-up tube.
My pressure is only sitting around 70 on a cold start at idle. I have a custom pick-up with the screen area opened up but other than that it's still stock. Maybe the people seeing gains are the ones who already have that custom pick-up tube and need to slow the flow down?? Don't know,....it's just a thought. Would it benefit me to run a lighter weight rather than the 20-50(Break-In) I'm running right now, if I got this mod??

Does not effect the results at all. Same gains with or without. The DCR pick up tube does not "ram" the oil into the head but simply keeps the oil pump from cavitating and starving itself for oil under demand. The oil pressures remain the same though with and without the pick up tube. If you show a difference in oil pressure it could be a difference in oil brand, weight, oil filter; miles on oil, difference in oil pressure gauges;sending units and wear in the engine. Gains are with or without the pick up tube and are the same.
Thanks

well i got mine but since tranny isent happy with me its about useless....more money
Sorry to hear about the tranny Dan. I was wondering when driving it like a raped ape was gonna catch up to it, but i expected some broken axles first. Good luck on getting it taken care of man. I look forward to some new fast times from you.
Curious Aaron, what type of oil and oil viscosity do you run in the car. What thickness do I need to actually run the 30psi pressure. I know running say 5w-30 will rate me a higher oil pressure than say 10w-40. right now I'm using Motul 10W-40

I did the initial testing with 10/40 and 20/50. Its fairly close between the two. I run 20/50 now

Hmmm, obviously running thicker oil is going to exacerbate this problem. I'm a little tentative about doing anything that is going to reduce the oil pressure below what the engineers designed. But over time if it proves to not cause damage I might get onboard with this. Big difference in doing something to a race car and a daily driver.

Hows 14-15 months with about 1000 orders with zero failures sound
