Ok, my SRT is an 04, no mods (except wires). Last week all of a sudden I can feel that my car has a lot more vibration; I can feel it in the shifter, pedals, floor, etc. The vibrations are consistant with engine rpm and I can feel it with both the clutch engaged and not. Also the cars idle has more of a hickup than before and the part that scars me the most is that if I lean in and get close I can hear a light (maybe once a second) knock at idle as well . I can only hear it from just under the intake manafold, dead center; If I lean toward the belts I can't hear it and same toward the tranny. If I put my head close to the ground and kinda under the bumper I can hear it slightly. As soon as I tap the throttle it's gone and I noticed it's louder when the idle stumbles. The car runs great, lots of power (maybe more than normal actually); just that dang vibration and now that very light knock. I've brought it to two dealerships and both basically told me that it's normal vibration and that they can't hear any knock (This pisses me off to no end, they act like I don't know what I'm talking about). I admit that the knock is so light (I have to put my face to the intake to hear it) that it may have always been there and I never hear it till I got paranoid from the vibration or it's because of the new idle loop, but still it's there. So after this paragraph of information does anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking of replaceing my plugs again (did about 6000 miles ago), just to see if it makes a difference (grabbing at straws I guess).
No, full warranty. I went to the dealership, they said it feels normal and they can't hear the knock (Basicaly they told me to come back when it breaks , I'm sure that is easier for them, but I don't like it). I listened to my friends SRT-4 today at lunch and he doesn't have it. Also I found out that it's much more pronounced if I make a hard run and then stop and listen than if I just let it warm up and then listen.
Had a dealership do same with me (which means: "DUH - we don't know what is going on")
I took it to another local dealer & they started one they had on the lot & verified it had the same issue. Might want to try that if you have another dealership local & they have a SRT there
I had the knock noise then got the vibration. I fixed the knock noise by checking my mototrmount bolts and my bottom motormount bolt was loose, just alittle bit but it was enough to make a noise, but after that went away the vibration was still there.
I don't know, I know the vibration is different and the idle a bit too. I used a mechanics stethoscope to look for the location of the light knock; I could'nt hear it anywhere except midway down the block by #4 (tried to get closer to trans, but it's too crowded and nothing from the old pan area), but it was more quiet there than with out the stethoscope. I tried reseting the ECU (confused though I left the + terminal unhooked for 40 min and besides my clock everything was the same even my stations), but it didn't make a difference. lol, to make it worse; when I went for a test drive after I had a accord pull up next to me and want to race, I launched careful in first to not loose traction and then missed the shift to second . So i'm sure the honda board will be ablaze with a SRT kill tonight. Anyway, I'm still going to try changing the plugs if I can find them, both parts stores I went to tonight didn't carry plugs for the srt-4, hemi, or ngk. Other than that I guess I'll have to drive it till she breaks enough for the dealership to "find" or it works it self out.

Hmmm...I'll check them myself I think. The dealer said they checked them, but then again I don't think they would notice anything on my car unless it was mods they could use to void my warranty. Seriously the place I went they ran my VIN before they even looked at the car, little over kill if you ask me.
Anyone know the torque specs for the motor and trans mount bolts off the top of their head?
I dont think there is one, our knock sensor in the car is pretty sensitive so i think if you actually had a knock or misfire in your motor it would pick it up.
I tried the unplug the wires thing to see if the knock disappeared, but it's still there...though honestly it's hard to tell since my car running with out wires on one cylinder is louder than the knock ever was. I tried to tighten mounts only to find my 18mm socket missing.
Brought it to three different dealerships, all said they could hear it, but that it's normal rotational noise. I told them it wasn't there 2 weeks ago and they just ignored it, so I guess I have to wait till it's really loud or breaks.
Is it sorta coming from the passenger side\exhaust manifold location? A lot of people seem to have some chatter from there. There is a TSB on the camshaft bearing not properly grounded down, as well as a TSB on the timing chain. If you do a search for any of those terms you will see what I mean.
