Today I was heading home from the store and as I pulled onto the street my clutch pedal felt different. The car was making this weird "clacking" noise I'd never heard before and my first thought was it was the throwout bearing. After getting home and going for a test-drive I noticed a "clunk" from the motor right when it started. I had my girlfriend rev the car while I listened and there's some loud chatter coming from the motor. Suddenly a clutch problem doesn't seem so bad. The car starts right up and there's no smoke or anything, but as soon as you rev it, there's a loud chatter and vibration from the top of the motor. It starts right up and idles fine with no smoke or anything. I baby my car and it ran fine up until I left the store. I'm thinking it's a possible valve problem? I'm going back to the dealership tomorrow, so we'll see what they say. This sucks.
Thanks, I hope it's somthing as minor as that. I'm stressing over taking it in tomorrow. I'm going to leave my Stage-1 and K&N Typhoon on. According to the Moss Act, if my mods caused the problem it's on me, which I'll accept, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I'm going to be honest and see what happens.
Shoot man, hope everything works out for you. Keep us posted. Mine goes in tommorow for a mysterious coolant leak. Seems to be coming from around the water pump.

Well, it looks like I'm screwed. They think it's the ballance shaft and now they're trying to deny my warranty (As expected). The blow-off valve seems to be the one they keep bringing up. Supposedly it changes the structure of the turbo and this is why they're denying me. So now they've got Chrysler involved and I have to rent a car at my own expense until this gets resolved. They're just trying to find any excuse they can to not cover my car and they're not exactly polite about it. Either way she's going to get fixed, I'd just like to avoid shelling out thousands when it should still be covered.

PM me with the dealership name. If it's who I think it is, I might be able to find you an alternative dealer.
Remember to give shout-outs to the people that made it possible for the claim to be denied, the people who weren't honest about problems their mods caused. Remember, a little fraud against a big corporation doesn't hurt anyone...
I hope it works out for you though...

Thanks. I've found out that things usually work out better when you're honest right off the bat. I'm rolling the dice with Chrysler, so we'll see what they say. It's out of my hands for now.
"Supposedly it changes the structure of the turbo and this is why they're denying me"..............
Man, thats unreal! Your "my-car" states your running the Mopar BOV. You mean to say that a certified Dodge dealership is trying to say that the Mopar BOV "changes turbo structure"?
Somethings not right with this picture. I would head to another dealer or call DC myself and get an attoney if needed

I feel for you man. I've had metallic tink/grind sound for awhile now. I'm pretty sure its the WGA arm making contact with the heatshield...or possibly a very noisy WG flapper. It only happens when im getting into boost. Stories like yours are what makes me fix my own warrantied car. Best of luck...and Slayer RULES ALL!

Well it looks like my warranty is voided and my VIN is flagged at Chrysler now. They supposedly had a rep out there today who looked my car over and said The Stage-1 and Mopar BOV are offroad products that operate out of the manufactures specs. They're saying the added horsepower is what caused this problem. I've been on the phone half the day with Chrysler and the dealership and it looks like nothing short of going to court is going to improve things. I took a chance when I put the parts on, so I'm accepting it, but it still does suck. Now I'm waiting for the final verdict of the exact problem and what this is going to set me back. All I know is this ain't gonna be cheap.
This is getting unreal. The insanity of it is amazing.

If they tried as hard to fix the problem as they did trying to find a way out of doing the work, I'd probably be back on the road in the next couple days. Now I have to pay for a rental until it's fixed. You gotta love the two faces of dealerships-When you go in to buy a car they're all smiles and extremely flexible, but once it comes back in they're all serious and straight faced. Such is business I guess...
