Default Turbo Rebuilt but now I have a Problem. Help!!!

Long story short I sent my turbo to get rebuilt. It's a Master Power 50 trim 48 a/r. The guy that rebuild it called me up an told me he was done but he took the wrong measurements and messed up another part of the turbo. He did not charge me for the rebuild because he broke the other part but now I have no idea where to find a replacement. Can anyone help me out????

Where can I get this part???

This is the part that he gave "too much clearance" to. I can now lift it and it touches the bottom of the hot side fins.

The Center section only has these numbers on the side.

This is the turbo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Um, there normally is play between the turbine side heat shield and the turbine fins. It always should spin freely. Have you tried assembling the CHRA into your turbine housing to see if there are any clearance issues? Typcially there is a recess for the heat shield in the turbine housing and that play you see will be gone. If you assemble it and are able to rotate the turbine wheel with no rubbing, I would think you would be fine.

If all he did was rebuild it and replace bearings and seals, and it assembles fine as stated above, you should be fine.

Do you know if it was rebalanced? Oh and if it doesn't assemble well, then I would contact the rebuilder again and tell him getting your turbo back to square one is his resposibility.... $.02

Have you put the chra in the turbine housing to see if it will spin freely? And if you do have feeler gauges then I would check the tip to wall clearance in the exducer bore (bore to turbine blade tip) and post up what you find.

I gave the turbo today to Turbomatt he'll take care of it.

When I put the exhaust housing on, the turbine would not spin.
