Default TPS/ 12 volts to sensors?

Alright guys... I have noticed the TPS going with in the last couple of weeks where the throttle will float from time to time and scare all the people around me. I went tot take a trip this past weekend and of course the TPS had been through enough and finally really started to bug out. It had a tuff time starting and would studder and the rpm's would float to about 2500 rpms and get a funny after fire.

I took the car in yesterday morning to the greetings of another cocky service manager that has no clue what customer service is (dadeland dodge). I told him my problem and asked if they could fix it. He went on asking me who had been working on my car to tell me there was a code for the TPS. I returned his little smart ass remark with no sir no one has worked on my car I just checked the code through the ignigtion. He went on to say that was not possible so I told him to follow me to the car and I will show him. He then said that something was wrong with the car and it was not supposed to do that. I was like whatever....

So we go back in where he is slaming the keys on the computer because he probably feels like and idiot. He then says oh well we are not going to be able to look at that car until tommorow because there are 60 cars in front of you while the service guy next to him is telling some women that came in behind me her car is going to be done in a couple of hours.

Enough of the bitching about him. I leave the car and get a call this morning at about 8 15 from the service guy. I was hoping he was going o say the car is ready. No such luck. He ask me if I can talk to one of the mechanics. I say sure. Mechanic gets on... Nice guy.. he ask me exactly what I have done to the car. I tell him Pressure Pipe and exhaust. He returns with nothing to any of the sensors right. I say no sir I have not messed with any sensors I have a turbo timer that controls ignigtion thats about it. He then tells me that some of the sensors are seeing 12 vlts. I am thinking to myself at this time.. is he for real or is he just trying to not cover this under warranty.

Has any one else heard anything similar to this? I know some of you have had problems with sensors and such. Thanks guys for any extra info.

Im sure those yahoos have sensor laying around the shop. They always do. They can swap it out to see if the part is bad.

Kriss to is having issues with his TPS. WIth the emanage you can actually see the TPS voltage. That would have made it easier to see.

The TPS will never see 12v cause it works off a 5v setup.

If youw ant shoot over take out my tps and then swap it with yours. If it works you can shoot over there and let them have it.

Sounds familar..it is the line leading into the sensor that is shorting out.

This is what happen to my TPS problem.

Have them replace the TPS line vice the TPS sensor itself.

Yeah man I just got off the Phone with this Guy named G Dewitt Duncombe (assistant service manager) who acts like he was born in a jail. He has the I don't give a poop about you attitude and he is pretty rude. This time he told me they still don't know the problem and then went on to say that the guy working on it this morning is now working on another car. So basically I would be better off with my tools in their garage with the new parts that I need. WHich would be a New wire harness and TPS sensor and a New Wire harness and TB sensor. I think for them being so stupid they should just go ahead and install stage 1. Oh well can't win them all. If your car gets fixed Kris I am gonna go get my car out and drive it to your dealership. I wonder if they are gonna pay me a prorated Fee for the time I don't have my car but I am still paying payments. Come on PVO Engineers I know your in here call Dadeland Dodge and school these guys already. Pleasssse.....I miss my car
Why the hell are our cars put after other cars. Its like oh SRT-4 gonna have to wait till everyone and their freaking mother gets their car fixed first. This is a crock of SHIte.

Call Worthington Dodge at (760) 431-1677, talk to Mike Zutty the service manager. He know the problem and can point you in the right direction.

You are experiencing the same problem as I did. It boiled to the TPS sensor cable was defected and causing a short to the TPS sensor. The fix is in the Chrylser Tech Central Database (naming?). Have to go back and check my previous post on CEL 0121 and 0123.
