Driving down the road I look down to see that my car has just hit the 3,000 mile mark, I gotta take it in to get the oil changed. Well i get where I am going, go do my thing, come back to my car, and take off for home. I notice after letting off the gas, that the car continues to accelerate, or hold speed. I think maybe the floor matis stuck under the pedal, or it's caught or whatever. So i pull the floor mat back, but the car just keeps on going. I then take it outta gear only to have the car surge to 3-4k rpm. It just started doing it today, and it even bounces between 2-3k rpm, but when I come to a complewte stop, it idles fine. I'll be taking mine in tomorrow, and with your guys help, hopefully it'll be fixed. Thanks
It is 5-volt line going into the TPS (Sensor). (White plug below the TB idle sensor)
There are two ways to fixed this: 1) replace the line due to it is shorting out at the sensor caused by stress of being to tight, or 2) (the smart way) replace the wire harness and never have to keep coming back as the BAND-AID MECHANIC keeps doing.
Send me a PM tonight and I will send you a pic of the exact problem.

Now, Hemi, allow for the possibility that it is the sensor in his case. I know some are harness, some are sensor. Mine has been fixed with just the sensor for 10K now.

i do know if it is
a) wirind defect
b) bad sensors
It could be that there are voltage problems due to the fact the battery sucks. The stock battery turns the engine over so slowly that is almost does not start

Then you have a bad battery, quite possibly the first reported bad battery.
Mine at 22K still fires mine right up, as I think you will find from most folks with this problem. It's no Optima gel cell, but it's servicable.
Ok guys I just had this start happening last night. Now myquestion to you all is.....I have a K&N Typhoon intke and I'm wondering if the has anything to do with this problem? Could the install have had anything to do with this?
If your symptoms are an exact match, there should be no way an intake could make that happen. An intake might affect how fast or slow your throttle returns to rest, but cannot make the throttle stay in one place.
Concurrance, Hemi?
11,800 miles on mine, just started doing this a half hour ago. Looks like you guys are experienced with this problem so any help would be sweet, as I can tell the dealer what it could be, so I don't have to sit there while scratch their heads. I started a new thread with my problem, as it doesn't seem to be exactly the problem you guys had. It does it at ALL times right now and does not idle at 900 rpms, idles at like 1700 rpms instead. Almost like the gas is on at ALL TIMES. Heres the thread.
