That sux. Maybe it just needed a software update? Those things are showing there age. They've been around a while, and you know how computers change.

Default Update again

Well, I was scheduled for a 45 minute datalogging run on Teus. I call up, they say that the datalogger won't work. I say good, since unless you datalog while it's happening, you have wasted your time and mine. Tells me he's going to call Cal Worthington. I check back at the end of the day, he tells me to call back today. Reading between the lines , it sounds like his boss has said that there will NOT be a call to Cal W.

He tells me they called the STAR hotline, spoke to an engineer who swore they have no record of any parts being replaced on any turbo Neons. That engineer was supposed to kick it up the food chain this afternoon. I'm supposed to call after 1pm tommorow for more info.

AAAARRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

If I get any runaround tommorow, it's ass chewing time!!!!!!!!

Damnnnn....I would luv to kick someone in the butt.

I cannot believe the morons that could make there life so easy when this is a limited problem with a few cars that made it off the assembly line with a shorted TPS sensor wiring.

Did the mechanic look at the voltage drop at the TPS high-sensor vice the normal voltage parameter?

No, Hemi, he has not had the car since that second trip where he saw it happening. But by the time I had a chance to tell him exactly what to look at, he had turned it off, and restarted normally. I know what you mean about people making life more difficult than it has to be. I firmly believe the mech and the service advisor would make the call in a heartbeat. I think it's the guy next in the food chain being a fool. For pride or whatever reason.
If I get no satisfaction, he's the one I'm gunning for. Having spent 20 years in the service, and also having worked retail, I know how to make this work. I just hate to fire up the big guns. I'm basically a nice guy who wants to get along with everyone. But I'll be damned if an idiot is going to jerk me around too long

Called the service guy. Said he hadn't heard from Dodge yet. I asked why we couldn't call CA. Said that Dodge didn't want to do that. If it didn't fix my problem, they were out a thousand dollars. I asked what the solution was. He mentioned datalogging. Then I pinned him down on the fact that they can't datalog my car yet and there is no firm date for when they will have that capability.
I refuse to drive the car around til whenever with this problem not being resolved!!!!!! I gave him til 1pm tommorow for Dodge to give him a firm plan of action to fix the car. Then it's on.

Me and Alf will dance all over them

Can anyone who has had this problem resolved please PM me with details like dealer name, exact fix per the repair order, etc. He still insists that Dodge has no record in the system of anything like this.

Now, explain this to the GM...the car will be return as UNSAFE VEHICLE. Under the Lemon Law, you have the right to sue the dealership and the manufacturer.

Let me find the LEMON WEBSITE.

I will be stopping by the dealership in the morning, I will findout the details.

Default Daily update.

Researched Maryland Lemon Law last night. Called today, of course no response from Dodge. Told the service guy that they had until Monday to have a plan. Teusday I send off the papers. Under Maryland law, they then have thirty days or four service visits to remedy the problem.
If not, it's a replacement car or they refund the full purchase price including tax, tag and title minus up to 15% for usage.

Will the minions of the Evil Empire win? Will our hero prevail? Tune in Monday night for the next enthralling installment of
" Bill vs the Evil Empire!!!!!!!

Well shit...I have had my car all of 36hrs and put about 250 miles on it....tonight it started this problem...it has not went away and I have stopped and started the car at least 10 times...revs to about 3K when I stop and put it in neutral...then idles normal...if I tap the gas pedal it will shoot up and hold 3k for about 2-3 seconds and slowly return to around 1K...Also if I am going like 30 mph down the street and i let off all pedals in 2nd gear for example I will keep going for some time at the same speed/ rpm's...kinda like cruise control except it shouldnt be happening....what do you guys think? Take it to the dealer Monday? Thanks

That's it exactly. Print out this entire thread and take it in with you. The one other owner who has had this problem that was not intermittent had his fixed pretty quick. Highlight the section where hemi explains the bad voltage to the high side of the TPS sensor. My problem is that they cannot verify that part of it.

FWIW, this end of the problem carries over to some of the 5 speed PT GTs. There is a programmed high idle (slow return to idle) during shifts in the PT's firmware. I haven't experienced a rise to 3K, but I can say that mine is very slow to drop RPMs when the clutch is depressed for a shift.

When I am going down a long, high bridge near to where I live in 5th gear with my foot off the gas, it will maintain the same speed I was going when taking my foot off the gas. It will not pick up speed. It feels like the ABS system is pulsing to keep it from gaining speed due to momentum and the incline.

The rise in idle RPM and the "phantom crusie control" seem to be 2 separate problems.

I think the phantom CC is a glitch in the ABS controller and wheel speed sensor circuit firmware.

The RPM rise has been documented on a few other SRT-4s from what I understand, and it becomes an issue of educating your dealer (Kind of like teaching a pig to sing; it will never carry a tune and it generally pisses the pig off). Good luck on teaching the pig to sing.

So, Jas, what ya got?

I called my service guy at 0930 to verify that I would be stopping to see him at 130-140 pm to see what he has. I went at 132pm. He's gone, his boss is gone, both to lunch. The three mechs and one remaining service guy didn't have a clue. They called up the mech who was working on my car. He says they have no answer from Dodge.

I verify the alarm system thing. Leave. About an hour later, call and ask for the GM. Tell him about the service guys going to lunch when I had verified the appt time. He puts me on hold, goes to the service center. I explain that it's unprofessional to do what they did. If you don't have an answer, tell me so, don't duck me.

About 515pm. I get a call from the service manager. We talk for 15 minutes. Boils down to, we are trying, give us time. Dodge can still find no record of any previous repairs like this. They are still talking about datalogging. When he mentions that he is not sure my car meets the criteria for lemon law, I read him the law, chapter and verse.

I explain that I understand their position, but I am using the lemon law as designed, to get the manufacturer to fix the problem. I'm sending the papers tommorow, we shall see.

They say they have talked to PVO, they have no idea about this as a known problem
