Default stock, camming? (video)

okay lets see... ive noticed this for awhile but never checked it out...

1.usually when i cold start it doesnt start right away
2. when it does start the wideband has no reading
3.usually it lobes like if i had new cams but motor is stock

i really dont know how to read the wideband that well but i think its running rich? correct me if im wrong please

and does anyone know why it lobes like this? it usually chopps harder than it does in the vid... and also usually does it when i cold start then when it warms it goes away kinda but then does it when im idling

its like 3 mins long
Test.......

Without a doubt lean you should be between 14.5 and 15.1 the higher the # the leaner you are running. the wideband goes blank cause at like 18 or so it's as far as the wideband reads. You need to add fuel at idel and most likely throughout the whole map,but if you have a rising rate fuel pressure regulator add fuel with that by uping the fuel psi untill you get to the high 15's on the wideband then fine tune with the safc untill you get it in the target area of 14.5/15.1 using the safc to make BIG adjustments will only cause the pcm to freak wich is why the regulator should be used to make biger adjustments and the safc to fine tune it
The pcm is seeing it and adds fuel thats why it bounces back and forth and you get that hicup. Buy a scan gauge so you can get the fuel trims straight and the car running right and get it to a dyno to tune the rest of it in before you lose a motor. IN boost you want your afr's in the low 11's to high 11's Pm me your safc map settings, base fuel psi if you have a rrfpr, and you mod list and maybe I can help you a little

well i dont have a Fuel controller Stage 1 comp is controlling it... i have the AVC-R next to my boost gauge... when i WOT in 3rd my wideband reads 11.8 and at redline its at 12.7

so all i would need it an AFC to set it proberly and a dyno tune? would it be safe to get some S2 or 650's injectors?

ooh and one more thing... also alot of times at idle i can smell exhaust fumes, popped the hood once and saw a little smoke coming from the manifold i think... could this be because im too lean?

and i lost the pop and gurgle from the exhaust

It should not matter how big your injectors are at idle. Stock is plenty for idle. It wouldnt even matter if you were running HIGH hp engine, stock injectors should idle just fine. Higher rpms is where bigger injectors come into play.

I am going to guess you have a exhaust leak before the upper O2 that is throwing the computer off at idle. It is WAY to lean at idle.

hm... thought about that but never looked into it...

is there any other way of checking instead of taking it off?

Get back there and check all your exhaust manifold bolts. Do you have a 3" o2 housing? If you do check those bolts as well and report back.

Replace the oxygen sensor lately? Mine was doing that at idle, had to just touch the gas and raise the RPM's a little and it would go away. That was on the downstream one. Didn't get a code either.

o2 sensor, fuel pressure & exhaust leak all come to mind ...

I would also pick up a scan gauge & monitor the STFT (short term fuel trims) at idle

You defiantly have an exhaust leak. mine was doing the same thing. When the person before me had the car they put the 3"o2 cat replacing peace on with just three bolts. The gasket was shot. But as soon as i fixed it its was fine. Until someone cut thru my pipe looking for a cat on my car hehe. I was just pissed cause it cost me 50 bucks to get it welded back together. Gotta love criminals.
