Default SRT-4 trys to kill you in ice storm

So we had an ice storm yesterday, and my SRT-4 tried to kill me. I was driving along the road, which was a sheet of ice, getting OK traction...when the ABS decide to kick in as im turning the corner and nearly put the car over the curb on the sidewalk. Scared the hell out of me! It did it again later as I was turning left in front of traffic. Be careful of this!

maybe you should either a) slow down or b) brake before and not during the turn

why did abs kick in? cuz you tried to brake and it sensed that brakes werent gripping....car responded just like it should in a situation like that.....driver error, not car

Either your car is nicknamed "Christine", or you laid into the brakes on your way through the curve, thereby losing traction, thereby activating the ABS.

Before you put your foot in your mouth, take it off the brake pedal and blame it on yourself, not your SRT-4. And don't bring it in and try to get a warranty claim - the SRT doesn't have traction control and it's not telepathic. If you step on the brakes and the car slides, the ABS comes on. See? It's not that hard to understand.

User error = you.

I was going very slow, 5 mph at the most. It was so icy thats as fast as i could possibly go. I didnt push the brakes that hard and i didnt even feel myself slipping. The ABS just decided to kick in. It was weird. It happened several times that day on the ice. Keep in mind the roads were pure ICE, not snow... so no matter how good my snow tires were or how slow Im going... im gonna lose traction badly. Even 4WD wouldnt have helped anyone on that icy crap.

sliding = abs...whats so hard to understand about that? it doesnt matter how fast you were going, or how hard you braked......abs comes on when the tires slide

If you were on the stock tires you should better. Everyone knows they are only 3 season tires. Hell even the owners manual says that.

If you were on snow/ice tires that sucks. I would hardly blame this on the car though, you're almost 24, you should know how to drive in inclement weather by now.

on pure icy roads you cant really use your brake too much,i know on my car or my truck,i can steer alot more than i can brake, sometimes i see poeple going sideways on ice and i wasn't sliding myself and as soon as i try to brake, the abs kiks in.
see the abs brakes as your friend and go along with it,learn to use it to your advantage in an open parking lot with no obstacle.
have you ever tried to slow down with the gears on ice, sometimes it works alot better.
be safe and good luck to you young jedi !
