Default Post Stage One Install - Odd Beep

The below started after the Stage 1 Install:

When turning the car OFF after driving, the car gives half of a single beep. (By "beep," I mean the same beep as the repeating reminder ding you hear when leave your headlights on after turning off the car and exiting.)

To make this more complicated, the car does NOT give this half-beep if the car has not moved. In other words, simply starting the car and turning it off does not produce this half-beep.

The car otherwise behaves fine; no CELs, no boost issues, and otherwise in perfect health. I am beyond stumped.

What gives?

Just to make sure, you said no CELs, but you did not mention no codes. Might sound stupid, but some folks might not make a distinction. Have you checked for codes?

Also, you say when turning off the car, but exactly when, after you turn the key but before you remove it, after you remove the key, but before you open the door, or what.

I have not checked for codes nor have I reset the ECU since it's first been installed. I will reset the ECU later today.

The half-beep occurs immediately upon turning the car off, as soon as power is cut. (Obivously, the key is still in the ignition switch when power is cut.) Once in the off position, the half-beep sounds as the gauges/radio/engine turn off. Furthermore, it will happen with the door open or closed; the trigger of this half-beep is turning the car off - not opening a door.

I'm quite lost.

I've had the same problem when i installed s1..... when i get on it, the half beep only comes on when i loose traction for a second then goes off. i really dont pay attention to it because the computer isnt throwing any codes at me and that noise doesnt tie in with any problems when the car is running.

OBTW, glhs i found a dealership that warrantied my car if you know what im talking about.

Nasty, damn glad to hear that!!! I don't look down at full boogie myself, but see if it's your brake light coming on real quick. over

Freq, Yeah, pull codes, reset, then pull them again. Keep in mind, you will get a P6033(?), the SKIM mismatch, code, ignore that one.

I am not using a Turbo Timer.

I think I just might call/write Mopar about my problem assuming I can do such a thing.

My stock '04 has always made that "half-beep," exactly as you say, when I turn the key to off. I thought it was normal.

Mine does it to. I have my doubts about this being normal. I've gotten the occasional odd chime out of nowhere when starting the car as well. Another thing to check and report back. With the seatbelt unbuckled, click the key on or even start the car. Does the seatbelt warning light turn off? It should remain lit until you buckle up, but mine doesn't. Please report back on this.

edit- forgot to say that my car is stock '04

My seatbelt light doesn't stay lit either. How peculiar?

Anyone else out there with these problems?

Update: my seatbelt light does function as it should. Or at least it does now?

The half-beep still happens, however, after speaking with other Stg 1 owners, I'm no longer concerned; they have similar symptoms.
