p0633 and p0243, headlight switch

just got my car back from the dodge body shop(was in a accident).. and I have a check engine light with codes: p0633 and p0243 but the car runs fine... could this be something not plugged in? maybe the body shop tech forgot to plug something in? I'm gonna take that stuff up with the body shop.. but wondered if anyone had any idea why I would get those codes but the car run fine....

the problem that bothers me the most is my headlight switch.. when I turn on the headlights, my windsheild wipers come on and wont stop till i turn the headlights off... if i just turn on the park lamps it's fine... but once i turn on the headlights the wipers come on.... the body shop replaced the left headlight(damaged in the accident) and the left foglight... could they have wired something wrong? the lights work fine... or could the headlight switch be bad...? thanks

243 code is the wastegate solenild circuit, and 633 is from the stage one. The 633 will always be there and effects nothing, its there because the skim in the pcm is not programmed....None of this would cause the problems you are having with the wipers...

check the connector at solenoid #2 on the airbox... also check the wiring from that solenoid to the PCM as well...

the washer bottle is up there, ,maybe they cut your wires and spliced them back up incorrectly.....

yeah, the cel wont come on till i turn the headlights on... i think they did something to the wires when the installed the new headlight and fog light.. cause my horn won't work either.... and its all triggered by the headlight switch.... when the switch is off everything works fine.... thanks

Okay I am experiencing the identical symptoms that flameredsrt05 is/was having.

Someone backed into my car with a Yukon/Tahoe and I had just body panel damage (hood, fenders, headlights, bumper) and I got my car back and now I have to same code P0243 and the same problem with the wipers turning on when the headlights (not parking lights) are turned on.

I have a feeling it has to do with the P0243 code somehow (maybe they are on the same circuit, and there is a problem somewhere in there?)

It can't be a problem with the multifunction switch because like I mentioned the damage wasn't real bad, just some body damage.

Anyone have any other ideas?

flameredsrt05 - Did you ever fix your problem? If so, what was it?

Okay for anyone in the future that experiences these symptoms. It is most likely a bad ground.

If your car was having front end body panel damage work being done, there is a good chance the body shop either left off a ground or put it in a crappy location.

In my case, both of my grounds on the radiator support (near the headlights) were in the right spot, but the body shop put the connector(s) on painted metal so it wasn't grounding properly.

Anyways, I sanded down the paint and reset my PCM, then the P0243 code was gone and the headlights and wipers work like they are suppose to work.

Garage
I just had this problem happen today, turn on the lights and boom wipes and left turn light stayed on. Car threw code P0243. Cleared the code with my scan gauge. Turned the car off and back on, everything was fine, until I turned the lights on.... I had to leave the gym and drive home with my wipers on a completely dry night. Once I got on the highway the wipers turned off, I cleared the code again at a stop light. now, the car is fine. I will look for a loose ground in the morning. Funny thing, once the wipers turned off, I had to actually turn them on cause I drove through a rain storm...
