crank sensor from:
-the dealer
Whole new engine bay harness
Brand new PCM flashed with his VIN
Coil
Wires
Plugs
Went over all the wires possibly related the the CPS
And NO we did not check the timing belt, not needed :readclose
All of these were changed and or replaced.
The FIX:
IMO: If you want the fix for sure get a BRAND NEW cam sensor and a cam sensor magnet from the dealer for the P0344 fix but with the P0340 and P0344 codes replace the crank sensor also, I had luck with that about a year ago.
Be sure to disconnect your battery when putting in the magnet and CPS.
We will see man, I dont see why not, it was the only part over looked and not changed. You think to your self how is it possible a cam magnet go bad or wear out...but it is possible.

I woulda told you it was the magnet lol when i got those i replaced the magnet and cam sensor just in case....glad you got her up and running:thumbsup:
All you have to do it take off the two bolts for the CPS (8mm) and then a torx wrench to take the bolt out for the magnet, the magnet has two tabs on the back of it that are off center so they can only go on one way.
This is now my 3rd CAM Sensor.... replaced two years back and then again last year... this last week I replaced it and I still have the P0344... I'll try the magnet & maybe post some pics
i replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, and now just put in a brand new magnet and still have the P0344 code and break up after 2200 rpms. Im at a total loss right now
WOW, talk about crazy. I just through the P0344, 2500rpm max. I came in to check the code and saw this thread. So what do I do first? Do I test the sensor first to make sure its good before I buy magnet? We lost our dodge dealership so the closet one is 40min. away.
I had the P0340 code while going back to work during lunch last Friday and all I did was disconnect the battery for 5 mins. and all is good so far. I was having over-boost issues before that. So maybe that made it somewhat sensitive, not sure. Boost issue is fixed and still no code...Yet
Update! so far i put almost 60 miles on the car since the 21st and everything was fine until today my car was breaking real bad like it did before but i was throwing a code so when i got home i saw my coil pack was burned in the back facing the turbo, so im gonna have to buy a new one and this time buy a heat shield for it.
just got p0340 today just that one. Just fixed a p0123 code for bad tps wires and was thinking my repair screwed up but now seeing this thread im going to replace these things first hopefully it works. Should i replace all three.
i disconnected my battery and connected it back up, the code went away and it drives past 2300 rpms now. Is that just a quick fix or still replace everything?
Just so everyone knows I went through 3 cps, after reading this thread changed the magnet. It felt heavier than the original...installed it, havent had a problem since.
