I just installed a mopar bov on my 04, when i boost an let off it makes a loud pshhhhh then a bunch of little ones before it goes quiet, i dont think its acting right anyone else having this prob?
well mine, if i'm shifting normal underboost, it makes a psh psh psh..little burst of the air shotting out. that is normal because the butterfly in the throttle body is opening and closing simultaniously (spell check) as you shift. is that what you were talkin about?
I have the same type of thing on mine. It makes the initial loud pssh, and then the pssshhh keeps going, but a lot softer and it keeps going for a while sometimes. It usually happens when you're on the gas. I haven't noticed less boost or any problems so I figured it's normal.

yea i got the same sound as what you guys are talken about the pshhhh, then little pshhh, pshhh, pshhh. i didnt think it was normal cause i heard the sound of it from a link in here an it sounded alot nicer!
I thought the same thing, appearantly it is normal. You can hear a pssh nice n loud in any gear if you are crusing and then get on and off the throttle real quick.

Mine doesn't stop and go at all. It'll just make the initial pssh, then just keeps goin and gets softer and softer. Like I said, I haven't noticed any difference before or after and get the same boost. If it stops, then goes again without putting on the gas again, then somethings screwed up.
no it doesnt completely stop its a loud flutter sound. there is only 1 way to put it on isnt there, maybe if i flip it to the other side or something? yea and i have no problem boosting but it doesnt quite have a bov sound to it, and i have no boost controller

If you have a flutter to it, then there's something wrong. You should have a pssshh all the time.
You might have it to loose. Try to torque the bolts down a little more. Tourqe spec is in the manual. This is the way you should've faced the bov plate: http://www.srtforums.com/howto/moparbov/ go to step 11.
If the valve flutters, that means that your turbo is getting spun backwards. This is bad since that is part of the reason you even have a BOV. Turbo's are NOT supposed to spin backwards.

You think it's spinning backwards? What would be causing that? As in what should he do to fix it?
our turbo's do spin backwards not forward <clockwise>,make sure that you installed the bov plate correctly. when you look at the bov from the top do you see 2 holes at the top of the bov? if not maybe its facing the right way but you need to spin it around so the smiley face is lined up with the turbo housing.
