ok so this morning i was driving to work (about a 10 min drive) and i was a bit late so i was cruising fast but not anywhere near redline in any gear... prob 90 or so. I stop at the gate outside my work and my RPMs are hanging at about 2000 or so... no big deal.. must have been the ported TB i installed about a month ago or maybe TPS... so i start driving and it does it between shifts too... i get to work and i rev the car to about 2500 and it does it... i do this a few more times and all of a sudden it wont rev past about 2300... it sputters and drops out like it has 2-step... i go out and drive it and it does the same thing through 1st gear but it forced itself through it. it hasnt done it again.. i went out about 20 minutes later and tried it and it didnt happen but i didnt drive it. i checked plug wires. they are good. im running NGK iridiums, always been great for me. now when i first put on the TB, i never had this issue. i was thinking it might need TPS re-wire but would TPS cause the stumble and inablilty to rev past 2300? no CEL. mods are in sig. please help!
TPS WILL cause many different problems ... I suggest that EVERYONE re-wire their tps, as either preventative maintenance or to fix problems like this
if you're getting a choppy, 2-step sounding rev at 2300, that's more than likely limp mode ... the car probably spits out a bunch of black smoke (fuel), right? AFR's are probably in the 9's or 10's WHILE IDLING
mine did that a couple years ago, ran like shit, went into limp mode but didn't throw a CEL ... I don't know what the hell it was, never figured it out
I ended up changing turbo's & threw in a new engine bay harness and injectors & the problem went away
I only replaced the engine harness because I had it kicking around ... and I put the turbo in as an upgrade & the injectors because of the larger turbo
I honestly just ignored the problem & did what I had already planned on doing prior to the problem & it magically went away

thats how you got rid of your squeky belts also, you took it to the track and beat on it untill it went away. Moral of the story just ignore the problem and it should go away.......or blow your motor
