I went out and looked at mine, and it's squished too.

Here's a pic.

I was just told today that when i shift I hit the brake, like I cant drive, LMAO. I had to show the dude this thread. I would probably never have known that each time I push the clutch pedel in, my brake lights come on, boy do I feel like a dork now! Hehehe, very easy fix though, hope this helps with the notchy clutch/shift issues.

Also, I wonder if removing some of the sound deadening right under the clutch would allow it to engage completely? Anyone else do this yet? Take a razor and cut a chunk out.?

i've had mine for a year, and am quite gentle with her.

however, i also see, just a bit what some of you others are seeing. doesnt look too bad, but it cant hurt for me to take the clip out or take it of the plastic clip & reroute.

nice heads-up. preventative. chances of something happening to a bunch of us is slim, but why take the chance.

Question Clutch engagement issues?!

I did a search without much luck...but what I am curious about is, if your "weird clutch issues" are the same as mine?!?

I find on occasion that (besides the oem shift knob popping off in hard second gear change, for third occasion) is that I can't engage into second gear (sometimes third) even though my clutch pedal is depressed all the way...I HAVE to then let off clutch and re-depress (sometimes twice) in order for the gear shift to be allowed...otherwise it catches and grinds against gears on me

Is this the same thing you are refering to?

LMK
Thanks

I have an '01 R/T. Dad just got an '04 SRT and I have an '03 SRT (18k miles) in my shop getting a posi setup installed. I'll check all of them out this afternoon (after a brief trip to the fridge, gotta keep my priorities in check...) and post later.
Thanks for the sticky on this!

Same here... but with 2nd and 3rd. And sometimes 1st, but rarely. I shifted into 1st one time instead of 3rd (it was going down very tight curvy hill, locally) Couldn't get it into 3rd and I guess I was kinda squirming in my seat trying to stay in it around the twisty and pushed a lil bit to the left and in 1st it went! Thought there was somethign to stop that? The tach shot up and I pushed the clutch back in around 5000 rpms... do u think it did a lot of damage?!? My guess-timate is it was around 25-30 mph......
