I had the same problem and my 2003 was still under warranty so i took it in and it was actually a sensor that becomes loose when gunning it. the deal said that when it get on it the motor shifts and causes the sensor to slowing start coming out of its housing.

That's why you shouldn't take the car to the dealer for simple maintenance items.

No no... i was just saying that i took my car in and told them about the E-Brake Problem. and after they fixed the sensor everything was fine. but they might have topped off all my fluids as well so that could be a whole other story

That sounds like a dangerous condition... like you're leaking brake fluid! Bring it in to get it checked out!

....as the brake pads & rotors wear down, the brake fluid gets lower in the reservoir, causing the brake light to come on, top up and you'll be fine.....maybe at this time it's a good idea to also check the pads for excessive wear.

It's actually the power steering fluid is low. Since there isn't a dash light for the PS, they just use the Brake Light indicator.
