car wont start

i went to start my car the lights came on and everything i went to start it and nothing i realized it was my fuel pump fuse i changed it and then my fuel pump would not prime so i did the rewire kit the fuel pump primes but my car will not start it tries but will not i had to rewire the battery because the guy who installed it did it with speaker wire does anyone know what it is i have been having trouble with it every since i but my bov on i do not know if that has anything to do with it or not
